Re: Mathematics of the championship
As a racer myself with much success, I can tell you without prejudice - one bad race from 7 is a fantastic record - especially if in that bad race you spin and claw back a large deficit to a driver in equal equipment. On the other hand, not being able to string more than one win together is not grea...

Re: 2014 Brazilian GP Race Thread
I think the KR vs. FA battle says it all about passing on this track. Lewis was faster, but following Nico in sector 2 was impossible without clean-air downforce.

Imagine if they get the funds, come backbfor AD, and actually count as a final classifier for the 2014 season?!? Whatever the smaller teams are negotiating now wll also be applicable to them, meaning they shouod have some funding for next year. Also, if they get to AD, their PR story will be epic (s...

Re: Hamilton deliberately holding back in Brazil..?
Lewis was holding back, but failed to put his final lap together as he locked up and drifted off a few hundredths in the last bit.
Rosberg was epic, and so fast - which was the pressure point for Lewis. Congrats to Nico on his Fastest Man in F1 2014 Trophy
That's a great show today...

Re: Hamilton deliberately holding back in Brazil..?
Let me summarize before FP3 begins: It is said Lewis may be holding back - to which the response is no, not really. It is said that you can start a thread on any topic, even a non-event - proven. Next up is one on sleep habits of F1 drivers. It is said that both drivers were pushing, though this was...

Re: #Refuel Caterham F1 - Crowdfund for Abu Dhabi
If someone asks you for 10 quid to save their house, send their son to school and feed their family, would you give it? That's exactly what these employers, employees and dependents are asking for. No one is being forced to donate, but by making it look like a silly thing for people to do is actuall...

Laura, the future of funding many things is 'crowd-funding'. This is a path many startups are taking, as it is interest free capital.

Re: #Refuel Caterham F1 - Crowdfund for Abu Dhabi
They have a certain period to come up with funding to clear their immediate debt and come out of Administration. So how this works (or most crowd funding sites) is that you 'pledge' to donate, and once the target is met that pledge is cashed. If the target is not met, your method of payment is not d...

Hamilton deliberately holding back in Brazil..?
Am I the only one who saw Lewis abort a flying lap and come into the pits when he was .5 seconds faster than Nico around the 60 minute mark? If my eyes did not deceive me, which they usually don't, my though is that he is deliberately not setting the timing board alight to give Nico a false sense of...

Whatever our various opinions are, it has made for quite an interesting year so far, and as much as we hate it, the double points is keeping us all talking about F1 and the championship right down to to last corner of the last race - Bernie's wish. Re: Team mates and choice of pit stop strategy during the ra
Mercedes has 1 guy. He works for the best TEAM finish, and does not do favours for either driver. This is why Lewis has been lauded for making his own luck on track, and not relying on pit strategy for to get pass or stay in front of Nico. Nico has relied on pit strategy and coaching too much, which...

Re: Mercedes Conundrum if Rosberg is WDC...
The bigger conundrum is him being accepted as a worthy champion. He will be known as the champion the crashed and licked his way into the position. The other issue is how would Mercedes justify paying Lewis more than Nico? We all know Lewis bring the publicity, but Nico has the championship. Nico wo...

If I may briefly add, and in context of the period when Virgin began: I was of the belief that with a similar engine, gearbox, ECU and stricter chassis rules a new team could have theoretically come into the sport and gone straight to the top.
