Re: Does age affect your views on KERS & DRS?
I am really old and corroded, but I would not like to watch cricket, tennis or golf in which players had to use different quality bats, racquets or clubs at different times by regulation. What we want to see is straight competition between the drivers and cars based more on their abilities than the ...

Re: How do the Robergs, keke and Nico, compare?
Thanks for all posters views, which help to build up a more complete picture of the Rosbergs. As most of you/us agree, the biggest difference is their eras: Keke was a real character and did not care what others did or thought. He just said what he thought, puffed away in clouds of smoke, and went h...

How do the Robergs, keke and Nico, compare?
Just posted a piece on my blog which explores the careers of these two sometimes under-estimated drivers. Interesting detailing their careers and car/team experiences. I was fortunate to see all of Keke's races at Kyalami from debut in 1978 to his last great dice in 1985 with teammate Mansell. They ...

Agree with the OP that McLaren should do everything they can to keep Hamilton. A top-rate driver is critical when cars are close-matched as they are this season.
Against such class as Alonso and Vettel, Hamilton's talent is essential to McL.

Re: Is it safe to say Button is now out of the championship?
JB really is having a bad season. Like Webber did in 2011 compared with 2010, Mansell in 1990, and Lauda had in 1985 compared with 1984. So it does happen to good drivers and teams.
It must be a difficult problem or combination of problems, considering JB and the team are so experienced.

Hi Froze: I love your pic of Keke Rosberg with his fag! I was lucky enough to see him race from debut in 1978 and had along chat with him at Kyalami in 1985; a real racer, with great car-control, who helped Mansell a lot by example with the turbocharged Williams-Honda; they finished 1-2 that year in...

Re: I've grown to like stepped noses, anyone else??
Those noses are a desperate/expedient response to a sudden regulation. They are ugly and always will be. The McLaren's nose is the result of 'natural' design and therefore good looking. Talking of ugly, those cars of 2007-8 must rank as hideous: with all the little flaps and bits littering the bodie...

Hamilton is a top-rate driver, and McLaren will surely do much to keep him. Imo his is the fastest package so far in 2012. Grid penalties ruin races and distort perceptions.
Paired with Button makes one of F1's best driver teams. Be a pity to see this broken up.

Much as Massa is a nice guy and has done well for Ferrari 2006-2009, he is too slow now, like Barrichello and Trulli. Massa is not what he used to be: the sequence of Hungaroring 2009, Alonso 2010 as team-mate and Hockenheim 2010 have reduced his confidence and ability. And the Ferraris of 2009-2012 have not been top-rate.
