Be interesting to find out exactly what was wrong with Rosbergs's brakes that coincidentally cleared up when it dried.

Re: 2016 Monaco GP race thread
Has a leader EVER given up the lead because he cut a chicane/corner? Ever? Is that relevant? Not enforcing a rule because it hasn't applied before is asinine. It ought to tell you something if a single driver has never had the lead taken away from them due to cutting a chicane. It REALLY should tel...

Re: 2016 Monaco GP race thread
To be fair Nasr and Ericsson are keeping the team afloat. Why should they listen to the team. They're paying for the operation.

Re: 2016 Monaco GP race thread
Hamilton should have given the position back after skipping the chicane but I think the block was far kinder than Rosberg's two weeks ago.

Re: 2016 Monaco GP race thread
The race won't start till its virtually dry and they need to pit after a few laps. Rare to see wet tyres for a good amount of time these days. We don't run in full wet conditions in F1 anymore. I think we all know that. Hopefully it's inter territory and dry enough for a standing start or at least ...

Re: Silly Season 2017
The GP2 commentator on Thursday (during the feature race) was saying that Button, Lynn and Nasr are being considered for a Williams drive next year. So maybe Bottas or Massa are leaving, I also wonder if Renault will (sadly) replace Palmer for Esteban Ocon next year if they can't get hold of Vandoo...

Re: 2016 Monaco GP Qualifying Thread
Can't really say Nico and Lewis was in Q3 in equal conditions. It is all speculation but I'm guessing Hamilton would of gone quicker if he completed another run in Q2 like Rosberg so the gap could of been bigger. In Q3 Mercedes would of been better sending Hamilton out with everyone else on there s...

Re: 2016 Monaco GP race thread
I hope it's wet start that dry's in about 25/30 laps followed by a shower around the lap 60 mark. Ideal. I hope it's dry enough for a standing start and not raining so there's no will they/won't they aspect to the race.

Re: Halo for 2017...
Can't find this mentioned on here anywhere, but may have missed it. During the show today they said the teams have agreed to use the Halo next year because the aeroscreeen has too much aero implication. So I guess we needn't worry too much about the cars looking sexier next year then! Well, I think...

Re: Monaco, tyre strategy and Ricciardo
I am starting to feel it's a misstep by Red Bull, an unneccesary one. For a one stop race: Imagine if Rosberg pits on lap 20, Ricciardo on.. I'm not even sure.. lap 50? By that time everyone would close up to him. He pits and comes out where? You're assuming there's no traffic. If Mercedes stop jus...

Re: 2016 Monaco GP Qualifying Thread
I think Ricciardo has a bad strategy the more I think of it. His best option would be to be on pole and run the same strategy as the cars behind? He is going to have to overtake a Mercedes (if he pits after them) or do 50-60 odd laps on the Ultra soft (if he pits at the same time as Mercedes) I bet...
