Re: Raikkonen: Should He Stay Or Should He Go?

I have a different view and it's one I think will not be popular. First of all, may I recall the last few years of Graham Hill's career. He was undoubtedly getting slower and his prospects of winning were somewhere between small and atomic sized. But he carried on because he had the resources and b...

Re: Raikkonen: Should He Stay Or Should He Go?

Its so difficult to rate Raikkonen. He came into F1 as an unknown and performed beyond expectation. He was incredible in the McLaren challenging Schumacher and Alonso for the championship (he should've won in 2005 imo) but in the last few years its seems he has not performed as well as one should e...

Re: Raikkonen: Should He Stay Or Should He Go?

I like Kimi. To be honest, but his career is over, time for fresh blood in F1. The problem with Ferrari, they only appear to be putting their eggs into one driver and that's Vettel. I hope I'm wrong here. Daniel would not allow Vettel to walk all over him. Not sure about Leclerc as a team mate ?... ...

Re: Criticism of Lance Stroll

IMO it's hard to judge Lance Stroll at this point in time... Both drivers are driving a bad car and Lance Stroll's team mate equally delivering the same performance.. No-one on this forum would ever knock Alonso when McLaren were extremely poor.. Granted, Alonso has got 2 WC to his name.... Personal...

Re: Fernando300

I really like Alonso, but unfortunatly he's been badly managed. He's been offered drives at Red Bull which he turned down. Had luck played his part and kept quiet, he would be in the right team now. Sadly, there's no where to go after 2018 in F1, except Indy. Congratulations to Alonso for reaching 3...

Re: Are F1 drivers paid too much?

^ I suppose the argument for some of these high paid drivers is wether they have a world title or wins under their belt. Those 1/3 of the drivers have won grand prix's or world titles. The rest are battling for points. Like most aspects of life , luck plays a huge factor for most of us, not just tal...

According to Daniel, he thinks Red Bull can only challenge Ferrari as Mercedes were running harder compound tyres. Mercedes were really quick on those tyres and believe they will have a strong race.

Re: Are F1 drivers paid too much?

Are F1 drivers paid too much? Yes they are. But the teams are paid too much, too. The sanctioning body and the promoters take too much, too. It's the whole package. Everyone is paid too much. The result? The price of a Formula One ticket is beyond insane. Normal families of five don't go to F1 race...

Re: Are F1 drivers paid too much?

I feel sport in general pays way too much. Back in the 50s and 70s, sports people were paid average sums of money.. Though the media and sponsorship deals have helped these values increase enormously and sometimes well deserved... Sometimes the separation of a particular talent is huge compared to h...

Re: Verstappen the new crash kid?

Max seemed already agitated in today's press conference. Seeing his comments, I think Red Bull has to do something since the situation doesn't seem to be fixing itself. I mean, I do acknowledge the huge talent the guy has, but I've never seen anyone in this sport to get that much leeway simply just...

McLaren will become..... 4th IMO.... Alonso has been consistent all season except for Monaco... His team mate will pick up the pace as well and score valuable points. Renault/Force India .....5th/6th....Cannot split these teams up, both are very close. Both teams have great drivers . The rest will ...

Re: Who is the best F1 driver ever?

It's hard really to compare different generations of drivers... In the earlier years people risked their lives without any drivers aids... Which makes Fangio the most remarkable. Today it's more keeping the tyres and engine in good health without too much strain.

Re: How to make Monaco more exciting?

The problem with boring races is the tyres.. Nobody wants to push their cars too hard... Plus they need to save their engines too!! In a nutshell. As long as we have a series that prizes longevity and conservation over performance, we will inevitably have boring races where the drivers simply prote...

Going on this title thread, I agree that Hamilton only wants to drive for 2 more seasons, but who knows with Lewis. Kubica will never be 100% fit, due to the lack of movement in his arm and hand.. Shame, but true!!... Those twisty circiuts at top speeds would catch him out. Fall down the grid and will be looking lower then a mid field position if lucky. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there will be a few circuits he...
