Re: 2018 Japanese Grand Prix Race Thread
It would have looked pretty silly if Ferrari had made Raikkonen wait 30 odd seconds to let Seb past. Even Ferrari know it's game over.

Had read recently Marko said Vandorne is not good enough for F1 . Incase they employ Sirotkin, it probably would be not because he's better than Vandoorne but because he has cash at his disposal! Never thought I'd actually agree with Marko but he's right. I think there are just a lot of people who ...

Re: I am calling it now Hamilton will win WDC 2018
Revisiting my snooker analogy, Vettel now needs to get two snooker to get back into the frame. Out of the remaining races I see more Mercedes friendly circuits that Ferrari friendly circuits. Merc have Japan, USA and Abu Dhabi where they should be strong. Ferrari have Mexico and Brazil where they co...

Japan was a one stop race last year, although that was with a fair bit of time spent behind the safety car. Ferrari seem to be hinting at two stopping with those tyre choices. Mclaren seem to have an eye on a one stop. The mediums are not a great race tyre though, but the soft tyre generally is. So ...

Re: 2018 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread
This race clearly showed why you don’t mess around and let your number 2 get involved in a title race. Ferrari essentially lost the title not applying team orders. In Germany they left Vettel behind Kimi when they were running different strategies, for 10 laps. He lost 8-10 seconds and was vulnerab...

So after the last two races I make it Ferrari probably just about having the edge over the season so far. A very slight edge. Edit - It will be a shame if Merc have an advantage from here. Absolutely not. Your fanciful scenario would leave a Ferrari seat open. Leclerc would be the only logical option to fill that seat andfinish the season with Ferrari. This would mean that Giovanazzi or Marcus would have to step into the now vacant sauber seat alongside Kimi. Not worth the upheaval an...

What an odd Q2 that was. Lots of teams unnecessarily sent their drivers out on hypers when they could have been a bit cleverer.
Now the battle for the third row best of the rest positions becomes critical. Those teams starting on hypers will need cars in between them and the ultra soft starters.

Rosberg was in a way unfortunate in that Hamilton's fallout with Mclaren almost certainly robbed him of the 2014 and 2015 titles. That frustration might explain his win at all costs mentality in 2016. He also had to be good enough to back it up and to be fair he was a very good and consistent driver...

Marcus did a job for Sauber, he brought money to the team during a tricky period and improved steadily. But this is clearly a team with ambition to move further up the grid, so keeping Ericsson would have been tough to justify. He just isn't particularly good.
