Re: Rank the 200 club
Prost and Alboreto could both have been in the 200 club with the amount of race weekends they drove at but failed to start a few. Right Prost lost his job with Ferrari end 1991 being replaced by Morbidelli for the last GP otherwise he would have had exactly 200! I believe he also missed a race or 2...

Re: Looks like the Mercedes will finally beat the Mclaren M2
Interesting thread however doing some research on the McLaren M23 it was used from 1973 until 1977 by McLaren and from 1977 until 1978 by non-works teams. The last 3 races were driven by Piquet for BS Fabrications. A total of 83 GP's for this chassis. More impressive than holding the win record stil...

TBH, from your list te only driver I think has shown enough to stay is Botas. Gutierrez is close, but the others are really just filling in. The two Merc drivers who have been bulled up so much, still do not do it for me. Everyone else is just your run of the mill throughput and will probably drift...

Imo many of the F1 drivers could be beaten in other categories of racing, esp karts, even by ' unknown' young drivers. Specialisation is underestimated; what one does evry day. Remember Barrichello around 2014 being beaten by The Stig in that little a Nissan (?) saloon car? Rubens got rudely slamme...

Who coulda, shoulda, woulda (not) have a seat for 2017?
No it's more of a speculation and wish thread than the official thread about the line-up for next season. Of the drivers not being confirmed for next year and still being considered in the running: Grosjean, Gutierrez, Wehrlein, Ocon, Haryanto, Magnussen, Palmer, Ericsson, Nasr, Kvyat, Bottas 11 spo...

Mansell might not have been the strongest at Monaco, 1992 should have been his victory but a botched pitstop put him behind Senna handing the latter the win. He was strong at his home race and rotten luck in Suzuka. Damon Hill was strong at Hungary qualifying the uncompetitive Brabham for the last t...

Very interesting to read the replies here. I would also like to see drivers in same equipment but not in a 1 race event. Ideally it could be part of a racing weekend so we can see them over different tracks and by preference in karts as it is probably the purest form of racing (at least Senna said i...

Formula V8 3.5 Series resort for relatives of ex-F1 drivers
No talk of any of the drivers from this series a possibility for F1 teams next year despite they were hot property when it was still run by Renault. Leader is a French driver Tom Dillmann who I first thought was Dutch. But look at the names of some others: Roy Nissany: son of Chanoch Nisssany who at...

Still so many drivers not confirmed. Haas said they were going to decide after Monza but haven't heard anything still. Grosjean looks a certainty, Gutierrez however would be a surprise if he stays. Let's see if he is as good as he is "said" to be. A young sensation was touted to be one of thinnest best things in F1 and he's not doing so well in a yellow car in his first season, but the car is a bit of a dog and difficult to manage in most regards. It is uncertain if he will be given a 2nd sea...

The whole thing feels like Ron dangling a carrot to keep the commercial benefits that Jenson brings without paying him a drivers salary. The problem with Rubens was that in his whole Ferrari career he had Schumi as his teammate and if there was unreliability it was usually Rubens' car. Not sure why Bottas is worthy, he went backwards... Even if it was one place. I believe he should have beat Ric. Rosberg and Ric but I didn't see much of anyone else. I was never a fan of him and yeah he did come close in 2008 but I felt that championship was more or less decided by which team/driver made the least mistakes rather than who drove best. The fault lies in making the cars so aero dependant and the dirty air it creates. If they manage to reduce the aero issues I'm more than happy that DRS is dropped and we shouldn't be talking about DRS zones any more.

While Kimi was certainly good, there is too many if and buts involved. A race isn't won on Saturday and no points are given for a good qualifying. The race is all that matters. Hulk got 4th on merit. Could have been a podium if Lewis had not been taken advantage so much of all the mayhem and SC.

Bottas was the next big thing in F1. A shoe in at Ferrari. That was 2 years ago. Is Massa driving in career best form in 2014 and 2015, or is Bottas just not the man we thought he was? Williams
Massa certainly is the weakest link at Williams. But Bottas is only slightly better. If they can they should sign an experienced top driver (not Massa) and a promising young driver (not Bottas).

I think it was just a case on not being able to quite adapt to an F1 car, Despite Indy and F1's cars looking fairly similar, they are very different beasts to drive and not only that but the tracks are vastly different so an entirely different driving style would be required. Zanardi had outings in F1 from 1991-1994 for Jordan, Minardi and Lotus never competing a full season though always being the replacement driver and being overshadowed by his teammates. With 6th as best result in 25 races and also 2 DNQ's I don't think he was a great talent for F1. Despite big succes...
