A lovely job by Lance Stroll today - out finishing the highly rated Perez and resisting Kvyat and Gasly for many laps.
I wonder how many haters are gonna be brave enough to apologise...

Re: Who has Sainz ever beaten? Just Kyvat?
To be fair to Sainz, Hulkenberg is very, very, very fast. In the right car, he could be WDC. Hulk is also far more experienced than Sainz.
I don't think this speaks badly of Sainz, I think it really highlights how underrated the Hulk is!

Re: Fastest lap stats
Another reason why Hamilton is the best driver on the grid perhaps? Perhaps because he had the best car for many years in succession? (Runs and hides) Maybe more because of 2017 and 2018? Are you trying to dispute that in the last 5 years (2014-2018) he actually had the best car? 2014-2016 yes, I'd...

Surprised Senna is missing given its on a % of races basis. Senna was often quoted as saying that it didn't matter how much you won by - a win by a second was still a win. Fastest lap stats
In light of the FIA's decision to include a point for fastest lap for this year's WDC (silly imho), I decided to check out stats of current F1 drivers and prior WDCs since 1950...here are the top 8 fastest lap drivers by %: Fangio (45.09%) Clark (38.88%) Ascari (37.5%) Schumacher (25.16%) Prost (20....

I call BullDookie on this 1,000%. NEWS FLASH! Senna was in the best car when he won ALL his titles, as was Prost. So that cancels that theory in your obviously bias assessment. In 1994 The Williams was pretty damn good, if not a hair better than the Benetton, or are we to believe that was only duri...

I'll take that bait. Schumacher is overrated. He had the best car for many years, and after Hakkinen disappeared, he had no real driver competition for the WDC. Coupled to weak team mates, team favouritism and cheating (from both Schumacher and his team(s). If Williams hadn't screwed up the '94 Wil...

As to Schumacher being in a league of his own, I call BS. Benetton 100% cheated in '94 with a variety of cheats, including traction control. Jos [Verstappen] has indicated such. As has Willem Toet also indicated. Schumacher's deliberate punting of Hill @ Adelaide should have seen him severely punish...

Hamilton shot himself in the foot with that start Sorry, but I don't believe that. I'm of the firm belief that there's an issue with that Mercedes car that's intermittent. It is incredible when clutch release at the start is more important then qualifying skills. Before you say anything, Mercedes(not Hamilton) may have the worst start system on the grid. Yup. The penalty system itself is ridiculous to various degrees, the allowance they made for Mclaren last year was even more ridiculous, and not closing off that loophole for the new season was the cherry on the cake. I was thinking about this too. Right now it looks like you can just sacrifice one race to get yourself 3 shiny new parts and have them in the available pool for the rest of the season. So the question is, should this be allowed? I think not. Best Regards I'm of a very differing opinion - the curren...

Spa is a no brainer imho. It's a track Hamilton is very good on, it's a power track (suiting the Mercedes car) and has overtaking opportunities. And of course, weather can always play into his hand with a wee bit of luck. The debate is whether to take a 1 or 2 engine penalty hit. To be honest, I thi...
