Re: Who should replace Bottas at Merc
You can't but that's not what I'm actually talking about. I'm trying to explain that your method is flawed because the size of the average gaps in qualifying times are not a reliable metric. Do you normalize the spread; throwing out outliers? Do you ensure that there is a representative and statist...

Mercedes nearly raced Ocon today: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/hamilton-unwell-ocon-saturday-germany-4502133/4502133/ Explains why Hamilton was subdued in his post qualifying interview. It must have been more serious than just a sore throat for them to have been effectively considering withdr...

Re: 2019 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
It seems like every time I start thinking that Max has turned the corner and matured into a more fair racer he does something like this. Otherwise a great race, though; plenty of close action, a real question of who's going to be where on the podium, and several good battles. It's nice to see McLar...

Re: 2019 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
Well, after watching a video of the incident, I am again, less than impressed with Max. He deliberately ran Leclerc off the track and left him no room. This is pretty similar to Hamilton vs Rosberg at the same bloody track in 2016, with Rosberg getting a penalty for that effort if my memory serves m...

Even worse is Vettel's unsportsmanlike behaviour after the race in the parc ferme. He should get a 1 race DSQ for bringing the sport into disrepute, but sadly, there are no such rules handling disrepute/bad behaviour in the FIA rule book (pretty much the ONLY international sport that doesn't have r...

To those continuing to defend Vettel's in race actions, answer this very simple question - if you're on a public road, and someone did this to you, and you had to slam on the brakes to avoid running into them, would you be happy? Would you be hoping there was a police office who saw the incident an...

The worse day in F1 for me. :( Same. My father visited Imola during a road trip from the UK to Greece last year. Re: Silly Season 2020!
I can't see Merc letting Bottas go. He was new to the team in 2017, had a bad year of bad luck in 2018 that basically eliminated him from the WDC. Both him and Hamilton get on very well. Introducing Ocon or Max to the mix will cause many issues at Mercedes, a la Rosberg/Hamilton.

I still think it's far too early to tell. I suspect that Ferrari will dominate at Spain, Canada, France, Austria, Italy circuits. Ferrari will have a very tiny margin @ Russia and Spa. They'll be evenly matched in Germany, UK, Japan and Mexico. Mercedes will be stronger in Monaco,Hungary, Singapore,...

This strikes me as a bit of a false equivalence. Raising awareness of police brutality is not the same thing as using a sport as a platform to spread hate. You don't have to treat all types of speech the same. Exactly. As to someone mentioning the "Klan" they should have long been made illegal, and...
