Re: Hamilton won't win a race this year
Even if he doesn't win this year, if he continues to drive in with his current level of maturity he will make a big step forward (from an already very high level) that should put him in very good stead in the years to come.

Re: Brilliant Drive by Hamilton!!!!
It was indeed a brilliant drive, and Hamilton's behaviour has been just impressive. His attitude has improved 100% this year.
He kept his head and is still sitting 3rd. Great result. Whitmarsh owes him a beer for that race.

http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/77858.html?CMP=OTC-RSS seems that indy was the right call. looks like he is genuinely having fun. its great to see! :D Yep, plenty of fight left in the old dog. Re: Hamilton to muscle in on McLaren's Mugello test schedule
I'm no conspiracy theorist, but this doesn't bode well at all. If they have indeed refused to let him test then that is a very public denial of what is actually a reasonable request. Hamilton's public statement may have been seen by Whitmarsh as an attempt to force the issue. Whitmarsh could, theref...

Re: F1 Driver you like the most out of the current drivers?
I often end up supporting Hamilton, Webber or Kobayashi. I find the way Hamilton tries to hide the fact that he's really a bit of a sensitive nerd quite endearing. Of course he's very fast on his day. Webber and Kobayashi both seem to have a very straightforward and honest attitude to racing that I ...

Interesting.
I wonder if they could combine the two approches and have a steel rear hoop supporting a transparent shield? I'm thinking of something like the front portion of an opened jet plane canopy.

Re: Lewis Hamilton - a PR dream?
Here's the thing. Hamilton's basically a social nerd - I think he's a nice guy at heart but isn't always confident with people and often tries too hard to compensate, as evidenced by his street slang on twitter (which has now quietly disappeared) and on-camera jokes that fall flat etc. For someone ...

Met him once, he is very likeable. No front at all.Well David Beckham, though a pretty likeable bloke, is hardly a TV natural, but despite that still seems to be the biggest PR draw anywhere.

Re: Robert Kubica is back to racing!
Full kudos to him for facing down the track where he had that accident. He's clearly exorcising a few demons out there. I think a rally car is a great place for him to recover his skills. If he can slide a car around on rough tarmac then he'll be fine. If his comeback continues you'd really have to ...

Re: Karthikeyan & the FIA hit back at Vettel
Wherever the fault lay on track, Karthikeyan doesn't deserve such disrespect. He's no world beater, but he is a pretty experienced driver who has always conducted himself professionally as far as I can tell.

Re: Some observations from the race
I think Hamilton has been just fine overall. A season racking up podiums consistently (as opposed to his recent "death or glory" tactics) will do him good. It's a long season.

Re: Are JB and SV too nice / underworked?
Jenson and Seb have obviously had good PR training. It goes beyond training, I think. They both just happen to be very extrovert, easy going guys. The sort of guys who are the life of the party whilst the more introverted, intense or awkward guys like Alonso and Hamilton stew in the corner and wish...

Re: Kobayashi deserves a chance at the front
Kamui takes a lot of risks and many times he pays for it. I simply fail to see how you can arrive at this conclusion. He only failed to finish four races last year and one of those was due to a DSQ over regs. If anything he's been very consistent with 9 points finishes out of 15 completed races. Ev...

Re: Lewis gets along too well with Button
I don't think Hamilton was annoyed at Button, who was after all, just doing his job. I think he was more disgusted at himself for his poor start. Button is at the peak of his career and confidence at the moment. Three years ago his career was almost over and due to that he's mentally had nothing to ...

Ron Dennis has moved on to bigger things, he'd achieved his ambitions in F1 racing and is now keen to build a global luxury car brand on the back of that success.
The stuff with Mosely was a sideshow, Dennis already had bigger fish to fry.

Re: Friendships in F1
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of F1 driver friendships develop towards the end of careers or after retirement when there is less to prove and less pressure to do so. Vergne is a young driver whose long held dreams are right on the cusp of being realised, so his response to competition will probab...

Re: Button went from......
The interesting thing about Button's career is that you have to wonder if it could be replicated in the current climate. It seems that more and more drivers pay for their seats and are then discarded after one season in favour of a higher bidder. No one gets time to develop, and no one without big m...
