Re: Sportsmanship may be dead
Sportsmanship isn't dead - Lewis was just showing the same lack of character he always has, and the British media were just sucking up to him and being as hypocritical as they always have. Nothing has changed. It was clear to see sportsmanship is alive in F1 from the actions of Vettel, refusing to ...

Re: Potential disciplinary action against Hamilton by Merced
Mercedes can't honestly expect him to obey a team order which ends his championship fight. This is just face saving from Mercedes. He is an employee of Mercedes and they wanted a 1-2 not a 1-4 which would only be in Lewis' personal interest. I am no Hamilton fan but they should understand that he w...

Re: Ricciardo 2014 vs 2016 season
Sadly he's ended the season on a low note. After being humiliated in Brazil, today he was unable to even keep up with Vers on 5 laps newer tires. He was also easily overtaken by Vettel, while Vers made him work for it. Not looking good for Danny boy. Would be a shame if he turns into Webber 2.0 Ver...

Re: Nico Rosberg - 2016 World Champion
Can't deny i think he was massively aided by Hamilton's reliability woes - but that's F1. That's the name of the game. One can't blame Rosberg for picking up the pieces and capitalising. His hard work, persistence and dedication has finally paid off. Congratulations.

So he doesn't want to take anything away from Nico's win, yet then appears to do so with his very next sentence. Given the way Hamilton suffered the bulk of power unit failures across all Mercedes-powered cars while his teammate has the most reliable car in F1 history , you can understa...

Much the same as others I’ll not vote as I’m mostly a Hamilton supporter, I wouldn’t go as far as to say I’m a fan because there are other drivers I cheer for. I think it might be good if Nico won, with the monkey off his back I think we might see some fierce competition in future, it might also ma...

Re: 2016 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Thread
Personally I can't see Rosberg even thinking about pushing for the win. I can see a boring race from the Mercs, Hamilton storming off to a dominant win and Rosberg simply playing it safe and bringing the car home second and taking the WDC. Rosberg "I want to win and I'll give it everything to finis...

Ric has been out qualified by Verstappen in 4 of the last 5 races. It's now 10-6 in qualifying. Ric was also brilliantly outshone by Verstappen in Brazil. Re: Hopefully what we all want
China's the interesting one, because Rosberg was actually slow off the line and was beaten into turn 1 by Ricciardo, only regaining the lead as the result of a puncture for Ricciardo on lap 3. Two things about this one; it's a shame Ricciardo didn't get an honest shot at keeping Rosberg behind him ...

Re: Neutral fans: Hamilton or Rosberg?
Yes this is my feeling too, I updated my post above but I see it as - Nicos 9 wins for me are 3- better driver (baku, singapore, spa) 3- Hamilton blowing start from pole (australia, bahrain, monza) 3- more reliable car (china, russia, spa) So basically 6 - better driver and 3 - reliability. I mean,...

Re: Ricciardo 2014 vs 2016 season
Where it comes to age Verstappen is an interesting case. While I believe in specificity, you don't train the same way for a 5k as you do a marathon, judging based solely on how many years they've been in F1 misses the difference in overall racing experience. It's a little unfair to compare him to o...

Re: Neutral fans: Hamilton or Rosberg?
They have both made poor starts, but Hamilton slightly more. The only thing I would say is the net loss should be 14 per race. i.e. if Hamilton won in Australia he would lead the title by 7 points, but he came 2nd and Rosberg won so he was 7 points behind. 14 point difference: Hamilton also came 3r...

Re: Neutral fans: Hamilton or Rosberg?
Exactly. It's pretty telling that if you even out the unreliability, Hamilton would already be Champion. I don't know how you can come up with such a confident statement, especially considering that some of the unreliability is very difficult to measure in impact. Okay, so Malaysia's easy: 25 point...

Re: Neutral fans: Hamilton or Rosberg?
Hamilton lost more points in Malaysia than Nico has all year. Nico lost 3 points at Silverstone due to his gearbox issue and 3 points in Malaysia as he likely would have been 2nd. Austria he lost nothing, in fact his gearbox change actually nearly won him the race as Mercedes gave him a much better...

Surprise how many votes Brundle got, if I'm honest. Martin Ericsson. I'd say tough to say between Lewis-Nico, Kimi-Vettel and Nasr-Ericsson. I am also wondering about Hamilton and Rosberg. I have gone along with the majority pattern of voting in most cases. Like many, i too found Räikkönen and Vettel to be the closest choice. Räikkönen’s turnaround has been fairly impressive. There’s a marked improvement on last year which is good to see. Vettel’s level has slightly dropped imo and th...

The poll missed a third option I don't give a crap. For Hamilton and Rosberg, each has very different attributes that in the final tally balance each other out. Bottom line is Rosberg doesn't deserve it, he's driven great sure but all this talk of 'whoever has the most points at the end deserves it.' doesn't wash with me when you look at the season, retirements etc. And I'm far from a Hamilton fan. Outperformed his teammate the entire weekend. He gave a masterclass wet weather performance. And unlike Verstappen, he was flawless while perhaps being under the greater pressure with a championship at stake. Both were a class apart from the rest of the field but Hamilton tops it.

I’m a massive Ric fan but it would be a push to call him the best over 1 lap. Max is doing a commendable job in qualifying and 10-6 reflects well on him.
