Re: The second best car debate

 We don't judge the RB of 2023 either based on how Perez has performed in it. Exactly and I wish I'd thought to say that in my post! The same would be true of Aston; if we judged that car based on how the weaker driver was doing then they wouldn't be mentioned in the second best car debate...

Re: The second best car debate

George Russell's pace. Hamilton has always been exceptional here. I think anyone that finishes relatively close to him likely had a faster car. Russell probably showed a more accurate reflection of what the Mercedes should have looked (although he has generally been poor at this circuit so was prob...

Whoops. I also initially set the poll to just a single vote (but caught that before anyone else noticed!) so I was having a bit of a mare yesterday it seems!

PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Texas 2023

The Qatar TMW vote saw a mixed bag for the four battles yet to be settled. The closest of them all is, of course, still at Alpine. Pierre Gasly's penchant for track limit infringements did him no favours on the PF1 Forum, a result which enabled Esteban Ocon to nudge back into the lead even though it...

Re: 2023 Pick 10 Competition

Keep in mind I gained 24 points on Strider in Japan and 40 in Singapore, so 100 points isn't actually a huge amount. There are still a lot of points available. I reckon we'll have a better idea who is realistically in contention after Texas, simply because it's a sprint weekend. At the moment I'd sa...

With just six TMW votes left to go in 2023, things have suddenly got very interesting at Alpine. Pierre Gasly's third TMW win in the last four races means we are not just tied up at 8-8, but Gasly now leads the Enstone TMW battle by virtue of having received a larger percentage of the votes across t...

His head's just gone. I hoped the summer break would give him a chance to reset but it hasn't really. For his own good at this point he should leave. The only real tough one for me is Ocon V Gasly. Ocon only got ahead because Alpine let him undercut. Toward the end of the race Ocon let Gasly through to try and catch Alonso. When he couldn't Gasly had to give the position back. He may have overtaken Ocon on his own eventually anyway. As such I've...

PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Japan 2023

Singapore was an interesting race on the track and, conveniently, also an interesting race off the track in terms of the TMW votes. Carlos Sainz's superb, measured drive saw him take 100% of the votes at Ferrari and reduce his deficit to 9-6 on the season. Also bringing their TMW score back to 9-6 w...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Singapore 2023

I would have to rewatch it, but for anyone who has a better memory than me: given the red flag came out quite early in the final runs, was Piastri 'unlucky' with the red flag because others below him were able to improve and push him out, or was he already down in the bottom five? And at that point,...

With eight TMW votes left to go, we can almost add the McLaren vote to those which are already settled. A very slim victory in Italy means Lando Norris now leads 11-3 on the season, meaning only a perfect run for Oscar Piastri could level that up and prevent Lando joining Alex Albon, Fernando Alonso...

Some rumours on social media, I think originating from Nate Saunders (ESPN), that Ricciardo will drive full time for Alpha Tauri next season meaning it's Tsunoda vs Lawson for the other seat.
