A question to all:
Which driver-team pairing could be as massive as Hamilton & Ferrari's move?
Had Alonso joined Red Bull, that move could've been as Earth shattering as Hamilton's. Antonelli to Mercedes could also be in a similar category as a rookie joining a top tier team.

Re: Silly Season 2025
"I'm here to stay" statement seems as if it's an indirect taunt to Mercedes & Red Bull for not accepting his demands or his candidature as a whole.

Re: Silly Season 2025
Ironic thing is whilst all the good drivers are running about to get a drive for 2025, Stroll is warming his seat & will keep doing so to Krakk's amusement.

Re: Silly Season 2025
Seems Aston were the only team that were ready to offer Alonso a multi-year contract as opposed to other teams giving 1 year to fill the gap to 2026.
Wonder if he also re-signed cause of Newey?

Re: Silly Season 2025
This could mean either: - Alonso doesn't want to drive as a no. 2 driver to Verstappen & be his supportive aid to help win WDC & WCC with Verstappen as the star OR - Alonso wants to command his worth in Red Bull & make that team work for him as he (probably) thinks he's as good as Verstappen or bett...

Re: The Official Carlos Sainz Jr. Thread
I agree. We don't need to see 5 seasons of Sergio Perez in the second best seat on the grid. Why second best seat; the Redbull is the outright best seat at the moment. This is not the first time we are seeing this though; I remember the years of suffering through Barrichello/Kovalainen/Massa/Webber...

Re: Silly Season 2025
Ridiculous & delusional of the Aston Martin employees if you were to ask me: Yes and no, IMO. Obviously, it's ridiculous that if you're thinking of replacing one Aston Martin driver with Sainz, it would be Alonso. Replacing Stroll with Sainz (or just about anyone else, for that matter) would clearl...

Sainz's only deserved move would be Red Bull as that team is still the best. But Checo is doing good enough to keep that seat his. Mercedes doesn't seem like the team to go but could again create wonders in 2026 with new regulations. Aston Martin is a good choice as McLaren isn't an option. Below A...

The cooler conditions suited McLaren & Mercedes. Today the weather is the hottest it has been this weekend. It could take some performance away from these two teams. Ferrari supposedly have better race pace + this track has a very abrasive surface & this year Ferrari seem to have better tyre deg tha...

Re: 2024 Japanese Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
Great lap from Perez, he looked great through the mid sector, pushing it Looked to me like he had to kill his tyres to even be close to max in s1 and s2 then he massively fell off s3. I suppose its good in that he is p2, but thats more a reflection of the relative car performance You could say that...

Brundle rightly believes that Alonso's antic on Russell which caused damage to his Mercedes car & put him at risk as well, has burnt a bridge he was trying to make to Mercedes for the 2nd seat.

Re: 2024 Australian Grand Prix Race Thread
Perez's car was damaged when he overtook Alonso, which happened midway his middle stint. This means that his first stint was an accurate representation of pace, and I have to say, Sainz destroyed him. By the time Perez made his first pit stop on lap 14, he was already 15 seconds behind Sainz or so,...

Re: 2024 Australian Grand Prix Race Thread
On a Positive note:
Ferrari were consistently fast & not suffering from tyre deg as the race went on. This is a good sign (hopefully) for things to come this season. All Ferrari need to do now is sort their pit strategies & wins won't be too far off & distant.

Alonso would be the last driver Red Bull would hire. He'll create a mutiny inside the team in no time.
