Re: Kubica's night onboard
I agree, I think today's cars are too sensitive to be able to do such a thing. I don't recall where I remember reading about this practice. It was in reference to either Mansell or Prost driving a Williams, if I'm not mistaken. I think Jacques introduced quit a bit of asymmetric tyre and suspension...

Re: Is Lewis Hamilton a Jacques Villeneuve?
...Hamilton is a strange one to me, yes he has a similar early F1 career path comparing him to the Canadian. Lewis is blisteringly quick, and certainly has had opportunity to add to his WDC tally, but thanks to another Newey rocket-ship the opportunities haven't been the best. To me the Englishman ...

Re: The 20 strongest Driver/Car-combinations ever
Surprised the Fangio Mercedes combination in 54 & 55 didn't make the list. I think he won 7 out of 12 races in the Mercedes. it is very odd that Fangio makes the list with Maserati where he got 7 wins in nearly 3 seasons but not Mercedes where he got 8 wins in 1.5. Maybe the 54 results got counted ...

I think the first time a pace/safety car was used in a F1 world championship event was probably actually indy 1950.

Re: Formula 1 Top 160 Ranking
So basically Vettel is 3rd best in the history because for 5 of the 6 seasons (2009-2013) he has been in Formula 1 he's had championship contender (2009)/best car throughout the season (2010, 2012) dominant car (2011,2013)? Why not, Fangio ranks second because of 7 seasons, far less races and all o...

Lastly, concerning Ferrari 's veto power... can anyone show me where Ferrari has abused it? I find this article to be interesting and quite explanatory regarding the political power of Ferrari in F1 (besides getting the best slice of the money-cake): http://en.espnf1.com/ferrari/motorsport/story/10...

Re: Bahrain to be a night race next year
If they want to have a night race, do it Le Mans style. There is no point to have a "night" race if you light every part of circuit like it is noon. Night race means racing in darkness(at least similar to evening after sunset). Formula 1 cars with headlamps sounds good. However, if there is a conce...

Re: Faster than light question
doesn't any movement of a mass have a mass effect (gravitational effect) across the whole universe? So if you move a 30cm iron bar the effect is immediately felt 10 light years away. The mass on the universe creates a bit of background noise that makes the effect a little hard to detect as the signa...

The arguments in favour of the existence of extra-terrestrial species have been well rehearsed: An infinite number of stars, some with life-friendly planets equals a certainty of life existing elsewhere. OK let's say we buy that. So Joe alien builds a space ship, arrives here but always chooses a r...

The last to sets of questions are really pretty odd but I had to strongly agree with "Ferrari is my preferred brand over other F1 Engine suppliers such as Mercedes and Renault." As I have 2 cars that need Ferrari engines one of which needs new/rebuilt ones rather more often than it should, no cars t...

I don't think it's an ex f1 safety car at all. The add just says "This model was the official Formula 1 safety car from 2008 - 2010." i.e. the CLK63 AMG Black Series was, not this car.

Yeah, VDG would be faster than Vettel x( Please, "horrible" Massa loses 47 points to Alonso, while Webber loses 63. Difference comparable only to Raikkonen/Grosjean one. And that without Massa/Grosjean's DNF. Since everyone here agrees Webber is better than Massa/Grosjean, it follows Vettel's skill...

He already did fairly well with STR... then he moved to RBR where he did better. A bit like Senna to be honest (more than Lewis who often is compared here, and i've seen you do it too), in that he won a race (Senna did win 7 is it, but over 3 years) with a midfield car (Senna's Lotus was 3rd in WCC...
