Re: Female Racing Drivers
You're either good enough or you're not and trialing drivers in F1 cars is pointless unless they're evaluating them for a potential seat. If that's not the goal, it's a waste of everyone's time and money. You know better than that. The teams are well compensated for running worthless drivers in 'te...

Great move for Aston, they test out a real driver & get massive amount of woke PR attention by wheeling out their attractive blonde "Driver Ambassador" for a test. Not at all IMPO. Like DOLOMITE stated… If you're not fielding an excellent driver there's no point really, and the ONLY thing that matt...

Probably correct???!? I've been saying 2012 Lewis lost the WDC due to his team, not because of anything he did or didn't do. Re: Poll: What should the FIA do with the DRS system?
If DRS is here to stay, then if a vote for 'a limited number of uses per race' option was there then I'd vote for that. I do a bit of sim racing and am currently racing hybrid touring cars, which have 15 uses of hybrid boost per race and can be used any time, regardless of the gap to other cars. It...

Re: Poll: What should the FIA do with the DRS system?
Either abandon it completely or allow drivers to use it all the time everywhere. I bet there would be someone developing unique way of using it where no one else dares. If abandoned completely, you rely on "whoever brakes last wins" and I'm ok with that. Having said that it would also mean much bet...

Couple more suggestions I've heard in discussions Set number of times a driver can use it per race Deactivate it for last 5 laps of the race (not fair that a driver who had led all race to be sitting duck) What I'm curious about is whether it's lost it's context. Re: Poll: What should the FIA do with the DRS system?
Get rid of it altogether. Real men can overtake without any aides. Kimi and Alonso's incredible outside overtakes were that much more sensational because they had to FIRST… have the cojones to do so, and SECOND… be extremely great drivers to be abel to set up such moves. Famgio, Clarke, Moss, Schuma...

Re: FIA clamping down on flexi-wings after Monza
You’re quite literally comical. Not all composite components flex. Nose cones and the entirety of the body panels on an F1 car do not flex at all. You’d know if you’ve seen and/or touched one in person. Same goes for Indy and Champ Cars. I actually sat inside of several champ and Indy cars over the...

Clearly I've touched a nerve here  I must have missed this as an off-topic discussion in another thread. You missed the main part about an END RESULT not being allowed as per the regulations. If flexible bodywork isn't allowed, then having a considerable amount flex on components on a car is illegal as per the rules. I saw that but I think Massa is merely looking to be compensated for monies he lost out on for not having won the WDC. Certainly his Ferrari bonus and potentially endorsement deals he might have had in place that were contingent on him becoming the champion in 2008. If he can prove any of that the F...

You buy the team, you buy the entry and avoid having to pay the huge entry fee. That's where the massive valuation comes from. Well, it seems like they are... It's obviously not all the entry but it mainly is. Even if Liberty and the teams do relent it seems like the entry fee won't be less than around $700 million. So that's the bulk of the value right there. Like I said, a few sources state Haas' value is closer to the $...

Redbulls drs advantage has not gone anywhere. It is just apparent only when they run their low drag configuration. May not make sense to some but it is how it works. Re: Will Red Bull still be dominant in 2024?
According to Binotto, the 'price' per tenth is about a million (I assume this is in dollars?). The overspend amount they were punished for, is about $ 2.37M (current rate, I have no idea how much it was in 2022 at the time of the report), so ostensibly worth just under 2.4 tenths per lap. If you co...

The punishment started in late 2022, and is still on going. The effect of the penalty is that their car isn't as fast as it could be this year, and next year's car may or may not be impacted as well depending on how much they let the penalty impact their 2023 development vs. 2024 development. If Fe...

You would have to be able to show, that the overspend was necessary for the design arrived at, to be dominant. Can you? Coulda Woulda Shoulda... The point is that RB could have claimed a 'research' tax credit that would have written off the vast majority of the overspend. Gosh there was a website that had every single race from 1974 on but for the life of me, I can’t remember the name!!!
They were almost shut down by Bernie Ecclestone in the mid 2000’s but they had a complete archive of every race with pre and post race interviews.
