Re: Ferrari vs. Red Bull - 2022
I for one would not be surprised if some of the mythical aura around Max’s speed was to dissipate this season. Drastic weight increase + simplified front wings = understeery cars by nature Those “on the nose, pointy” Red Bull cars with loose rear ends (from 2019-2021) allowed Max to fully display h...

Re: Ferrari vs. Red Bull - 2022
Over the race its very hard to judge if the Red Bull doesn't even finish the race. That's the point though isn't it RB have had two fuel related DNF's they don't have any significant porpoising yet are being beaten by a Ferrari that has room for improvement. Doesn't look ideal for RB who need to be ...

Re: Russell's race pace
It has been a promising start. The acid test of course will be if/when the Mercedes gets back to battling for race wins. That tends to be when talent really shines through. I suspect he's very much on the pace. That will be a huge relief for Mercedes given Hamilton's age and the fact that it looks ...

Re: Should a driver be penalised for crowding or overtaking the car in P1 at a race restart?
This will annoy some but I have not really understood why the race shouldn't be restarted with the same gaps (or close to the same gaps) as when it was flagged, isn't that what the VSC does after all? A car has an accident so the driver loses his advantage because someone has an accident. How is tha...

No, having watched the video you are spot on. More like a promotional advert for gambling and clearly staged.
I presume Ricciardo is retiring then if he is "not, no more" then he is surely
Mind you if it replaces Saudi Arabia that's possibly a step forward.

Why might it be difficult to leave? Is this in terms of not enough planes currently there until after the race, is it a safety thing or something else? More of a threat by the looks of it. So a missile attack near enough for the smoke to drift on the track by Yemen's Houti rebels on an oil refinery is not significant concern to prevent the Grand Prix going ahead. Totally and Utterly Stupid decision.

I can't see why applying rules retrospectively has the slightest relevance to this thread. Surely the point is that at the time even those in place at the time where inconsistently applied. As I mentioned before its not simply the overtaking guidelines but the application of enforcement of track lim...

We haven't seen the new rules apparently, but have been told unofficially what they are. It's a bit like Mercedes pulling out a sheet of paper which apparently only they had, and claiming that that is the rule everyone should be adhering to. From the unofficial info, it suggests there is a bit more...

Only one race but ask yourself was Verstappen's driving different in the first race? Did he force Leclerc of the track?
Then more importantly has it reduced his ability to pass?
We will see more as the season progresses but track limits and driving guidelines seem to have neutered him somewhat.

Isn't one of Mercedes strengths their ability to develop the car as the season develops? At the moment with a higher ride height to minimise porpoising it must be near impossible to donkeys the cars power issues as the whole car was designed to be lower. Fix that then the power issue might be less o...

I was a little surprised Max was so emotional with the team in the heat of several moments, obviously disappointment comes with the car failing but i don't think I've seen him that heated in what is a first race of a season. Horner stating the merc violates the spirit of the regulations. All very well stating that but why would that be then, explaining the objection would help wouldn't it? Daft question but what if the Merc concept happened to be a red herring, just to get the other teams in a flap? Man, if this design works then hats off to whoever was in charge of this design. I have my doubts though. On the BBC site: "BBC Sport understands the FIA has looked at the Mercedes design and given it the all-clear.
