Re: Ricciardo WOW

Brilliant qualifying effort. Button's reaction says it all. Though wouldn't be surprised if Vergne isn't far behind at the end of the race. Dan out qualifying the car while quicker cars pass him during the race and Vergne doing the opposite cos he has under qualified the car.

Re: When was Mark Webber's prime?

Probably the Jaguar days were his peak in terms of the laps he came up with. The problem back then was that the cars he had were unreliable and he was always and still unlucky e.g. getting burned on the donkey and throwing up in his helmet to mention a few. - Memorable debut in the Minardi and some ...

Re: Vettel lying about knowing he shouldn't overtake

Seb confused?! Seb is just putting on a show. The little sh1t saying and apologising he didn't know what was happening was absolutely bullsh1t. How many times in the past have Red Bull kept station after the final pit stop. This is nothing new, even in Silverstone 2011 where many ppl like to bring t...

One car width space and a bit is fine, just as in Turkey 2010. Whereas Schumi continued to move across Rubens at Hungary.

Re: Vettel: "Mark is too slow get him out of the way" [MERGE

Difference bourbon was that Silverstone Webber ignored team orders to prove a point, he was alongside Seb down Hangar straight yet still backed off and obeyed orders. He was not as dangerous as Seb in trying to overtake, more like pressuring him hopefully into a mistake. Also take into the context t...

Re: 2013 Malaysian GP Thread

Problem is the team took a strategic decision to hold positions to save fuel, tyres, engine, etc. Vettel disregarded that order to gain for himself. Mark has more than a few occasions stayed behind Vettel for the same resons even though he was faster, the British GP two years ago springs to mind. I...

Re: Vettel booed on podium.

Yeah it was uncalled for, if anything those boos should be more directed at Helmut...guess that's as close as they can get. Agree with Canada 2011, I was actually there that race and was surprised Vettel was booed. We got what we wanted - Vettel not winning - but booing wasn't on, maybe just to rub ...

Re: Mark webber the worst starter in history?

It's been mentioned many times what is wrong with Webber's starts. Sometimes him, sometimes the team but Davidson talked to his engineer last year (Pilbeam) about why Webber always had poor starts. Basically his initial release reaction off the line and the same as Vettel's is fine (first clutch), i...

Re: Webber: 2013 not my last season; Marko has an agenda

Interesting. The only time I've heard Webber linked with McLaren recently was Brundle saying Webber wanted to join them, Brundle said this a couple of months ago. Yeah, assuming Lotus can be as competitive as they were in 2012 that may not be a bad call. Kimi was third in the title race after all. ...

Re: Webber: 2013 not my last season; Marko has an agenda

Personally I would prefer if he could get a drive at McLaren. I think that ship has sailed, rumours at the time way back when McLaren were looking for replacement for Alonso, Webber was on the short list of drivers to replace Alonso (they ended up going with Heikki) but apparently Webber said that ...

Re: Does Webber really still want to be in F1?

Remember the quotes when Vergne would mouth of re Webber about what a lousy job he did in the Red Bull only to not make Q2 multiple times last year. When Webber feels these guys are better than him then he will retire otherwise why not continue? He did a pretty decent job until the second half of th...

As I said before, it is just my own feeling and others are not bound to agree. He comes across as forthright but that does not mean that he is saying everything he feels. To put it in another way, if I was an F1 driver and someone asked me which driver in this particular grid I did not want to be m...

Re: Domenical: Vettel gets better parts than Webber

If Webber was getting unequal treatment he would say so, he's not one to mince his words with the media. He also wouldn't have signed on with Red Bull for another year. Its logical to give the cream of the crop to the #1. Why did Webber re-sign to Red Bull?? 1) It was #2 at either RB or Ferrari; he...

Did you guys even read Pilbeam's (Webber's engineer) interview with Davidson on Sky before jumping to conclusions? It's a bit of both, the team and Webber himself. Sometimes himself, sometimes just the team's settings and sometimes a combination. Pilbeam says his reaction time and initial getaway ar...

Re: Whos faster? Vergne or ricciardo?

Faster: Ricciardo as shown by qualifying this year Races: Start of the year Vergne was better because of Dan's poor starts but in the second half Ricciardo sorted himself out was generally the quicker in the races. Most of the time though both were on different strategies e.g. Korea, starting behind...

I'm not saying this is wrong, but several recent posts in a couple of threads got me thinking. Re: A tale of two teammates, Webber/Massa

Sorry, I should have said this year. I know he's capable of good drives but so far this season he's not done anything particularly impressive. And I'm including Monaco in that. people were still trying to understand the tyres and everyone was tip-toeing around the circuit. Well done for getting the...

Re: A tale of two teammates, Webber/Massa

I don't think that's true. On his day Button can be highly impressive, whereas outside qualifying I'm struggling to remember a really memorable race from Webber. Webber's really disappointed me this year. Up until the break he was consistent and doing better overall than Seb. After the summer he ju...

Re: Should Webber retire or move on?

One bad race doesn't equal one poor season. FFS F1 fans are a fickle bunch. I bet none of you were saying this halfway through the championship when he was 2nd ahead of Vettel. Sure, he has had a poor second half to the season but calling him to retire after a lousy race is more pathetic IMO. very p...

Re: The Official Mark Webber Thread

Nope, but his driving style sure damages his tires. Would have been more interesting if we were racing in the Bridgestones era, these Pirelli's fit Sebs driving style like a glove. I think Webber would have given more of a fight than what he has done the past few years - such is his luck now that he...

Oh for goodness sake: I think there is some very unfair Grosjean bashing going on here. For the races he has finished (yes I know everyone doesn't finish but this is for illustrative purposes) he averages 10.25 points a race: Alonso is on 14.9, Hamilton is on 12.6, Kimi is on 10.5. He is 100% quick...

Why would you? It is his own fault and he is suffering the consequences of idiotic driving. Not only did he screw Webber's race, he also screwed up Rosberg's and Vergne's as well as his own. Williams and Jaguar both came out and said they had problems with their start systems. Especially after both Webber and Heidfield lost two places at the start of the San Marino GP. Red Bull came out last year and changed his starting specification from 2011 to the 2010 spec which all of a sudden his...
