Re: Was Schumacher actually and officially fired from Merced

Rosberg scored 67 of his 93 points in the 5 races between China and Canada, where the Mercedes was actually competitive. In those races Schumacher had a mechanical failure, a DRS failure in qualifying, a collision, a penalty *and* a mechanical failure, then another mechanical failure. 1 point. That...

Re: Was Schumacher actually and officially fired from Merced

Nice, but in Valencia for example, Rosberg also benefited by retiring cars, no? He was 6th picking up 8 points, where's that in your list ? I can only see Schumacher benefited there, was Rosberg in another race? Singapore Hamilton drops out the race, Rosberg gains position... Come on, you can do be...

Re: Was Schumacher actually and officially fired from Merced

Since I'm bored, let's take a 'luck free' view on Mercedes season... Australia - Schumacher retires from 3rd with tech issues. Rosberg is running 7th before a colision with Perez on the last lap gives him a puncture. Verdict - Schumacher gets 4th ( 12 points ), Rosberg 6th ( 8 points ). This is bein...

Even Villeneuve agrees with me. He said that F1 stewards don't understand closing speed and how it works. Well if Villeneuve agrees with you then it's got to be true. *facepalm* The Barcelona incident has been discussed to death. Schumacher ploughed into the back of someone under braking (not the o...

Re: Was Schumacher actually and officially fired from Merced

He's only got less points because of bad luck. Schumacher has not got less than half Rosberg's points through sheer luck. He lost a 4th place in Australia (if he was lucky) and China through bad luck and a 6th/7th in Monaco. He might have lost a couple more minor points finishes through technical i...

Re: Was Schumacher actually and officially fired from Merced

OK. According to you, that would answer the first part of my question. However, was it really the case of Mercedes not giving a fairy cakes and hiring Hamilton in spite of Schumacher and have they not communicated him BEFORE the official announcement? How did Schumacher know about it? What about th...

Re: Was Schumacher actually and officially fired from Merced

No he hasn't been fired. He had a contract, it expired and Mercedes chose not to renew it. If anything you could say Mercedes had a vacancy for next season as there was nobody contracted to do Schumacher's job. We can discus the intricacies and vocabulary if you want but everyone knows the situation...

Re: Sauber CEO says KK doesn't need sponsors, but results!!!

He is one sixth place finish behind the driver Mclaren chose to replace Hamilton. Not bad considering he was robbed of his 2 best results of the season at Valencia and Spa. If he beats Perez this year and Sauber drop him they will look a bit foolish IMO and lose a lot of respect from me (They would ...

Do you drive? Because you do know that in the UK nearly 2000 deaths occur on our roads while its estimated about 750 people die through passive smoking. So I could easily argue by driving you are being more antisocial than any smoker. You a certainly more likely to kill somebody. Yes Smoking is ant...

Personal highlight for me was being at Spa when Button won. I'd been to 3 races before which he'd failed to even finish so to see him pull off the weekend of his career was quite special. More from a neutral point of view I'd go with: - Kimi's comeback being strong and adding another dimension to ra...

One springs to mind straight away, that being Schumi finishing on the podium every race in '02. I expect there's been others too. Montoya ruined an amazing run of Schumi's at Monaco 04 Wasn't that the race where Michael slammed the brakes on in the tunnel? Hardly Montoya's fault. Schumacher went ne...

I'm sure I remember Martin Brundle saying in a documentary with Ferrari that the top of the drivers head had to be 73mm (I think) below a line from the front of the cockpit to the top of the airbox. No way Prost meets that criteria here, I'm surprised they let him out like that. Looking at his caree...

Spa, never more so than between the 2009 race and 2010. 2009 was the first race weekend I went to and I just fell in love with the place. That was on my own but in 2010 I went again with 3 mates, probably the best weekend I've ever had with my clothes on.

I think Brosnan had the balance right between the action, comedy, looks/style and emotion. Connery runs him a very close second but his films were (only a little bit) cheesy. Some of the villains and scenarios were a little bit too cartoon super-villainy. Baddies with shark tanks and piranahs bent o...

I think they should get rid of STR because they are boring. Their livery is boring and they have rarely been competitive. They're just a naff, Italian Red Bull who are constantly blackmailed by Helmut Marko into moving out the way.

I think Kimi deserves a win, he's driven as well as anybody this season. Can't remember any accidents, incidents or controversy around him.

Aside from that I'd settle for 3 different winners to disrupt the Vettel bore-fest. A wet Interlagos would be good for a laugh too.
