Re: Gearbox penalties
I have a question. If Hulkenberg got a gearbox penalty for changing his gearbox because it was damaged in a crash, how come Alonso could do it when he got crashed into in Spa?

Re: Let's speak our minds (the honesty thread).
I am curious how one can judge that "cota sucks" before a car has ever touched the track? Because the layout copies famous corners from Silverstone, Suzuka, Istanbul, and Hockenheim (although that was an epic fail). The only turns it didn't copy are the last turns, turn 1, and the turn before the b...

Tracks. Australia rules. Malaysia is the awesome. China is a knockoff of Malaysia, but still awesome. Bahrain sucks. Barcelona is alright. Monaco rocks. Canada is the best. Silverstone is awesome. New Hockenheim rules, but the old one was better. Nurburgring is one of the best. Hungary sucks. Spa ru...

Re: Do you agree with most of the red flags when it rains?
It's probably Parc Ferme stopping teams from setting up a car for a wet race, when they can just make a dry setup because that will usually happen. If there was no Parc Ferme rule, wet qualifyings would not be stopped because they could actually use a wet setup.

Re: Let's speak our minds (the honesty thread).
Vettel has talent. Webber has talent, but isn't championship material. Hamilton is a drama queen. Button is a champion, but not that quick. Alonso is the class of the field. Massa is the luckiest person in F1. Schumacher still has the skills, but Schumacher in his prime was the absolute best. Rosber...

Re: McLaren didn't consider Di Resta because he's British?
No, because he and Hulkenberg haven't consistently impressed like Perez has. Di Resta has had personal best finishes in Singapore twice and Bahrain, but other than that it's like he's invisible in a race. Same with Hulkenberg.

The fuel rule in qualifying was stupid. Whenever a driver posted a fast time it wasn't because he pushed as hard as he could, it was because he had less fuel. Qualifying was boring.

Most likely Maldonado or Grosjean. It might also be either Force India driver but none of them has consistently impressed like Maldonado or Grosjean.

I think Ferrari allowed Perez to go to McLaren so he could get the necessary experience in a top team before Ferrari takes him on around the time when Alonso's contract expires. Alonso has a contract until the end of 2016 , by which time he will be 35, but we'll see if he wants to leave Ferrari, ret...

Yes I like them. In 2011 the top 4 teams didn't change their drivers and that was boring. Now we have Perez going to McLaren in Hamilton's place, which is a start.

As a Schumacher fan, and because I'm going to the 2013 Canadian Grand Prix, I'd really want to see him racing in F1 for one more year. But Sauber doesn't seem to be likely, because Peter Sauber will probably fill the seats with promising young talent. Lotus? They have Kimi who is sure to stay and Gr...

I see Schumacher haters always look at all the bad things and judge him based on that, so I decided to go over the WDCs focusing on their worst points. -Schumacher crashes into his championship rivals. -Alonso needs #1 status or he won't win. -Hamilton cracks under pressure and subsequently hides in...

Re: Singapore race too long and tough - De La Rosa
The year Kimi crashed out late in the race (I think 2009), he looked absolutely exhausted. The physical demands of this race definitely adds another variable, which is great for spectators. I don't think it should be changed even if ALL the drivers find it extremely tiring. Not all drivers look tir...

I picked Hamilton, but it's really tight between him and Vettel. In the second stint, Vettel was closing in, but there was no guarantee there was going to be an overtake. It looked like it was going to last the whole race. Can someone explain to me what Di Resta did to get 4th? Was he that fast or d...

What people are usually doing is comparing Kubica in 2010 to Maldonado in 2012. Kubica at that point had more experience, but they both stood out early in F1.

China's only notable for the first corner and the long straight. There are a lot of corners blatantly copied from Malaysia in China. Sector 2 in China and Malaysia are almost identical except some turns go left instead of right.

From my perspective, i'd say that a potential driver-related race of attrition is not a bad thing. People suggest that Monza is hard on the cars in terms of being on throttle for extended periods; I say we should have this kind of variety of races. This. Singapore is longer than any other race, and...

People are complaining about no longer pushing to the limit; well they are, but on equipment that is not designed to last 1 race but several Grands Prix. I'm sure once an engine has done the distance it's designed to do (3 GPs?) it falls apart.

Teams believed that they improved about 2 seconds when they got the Barcelona. Ferrari clearly made more progress than anyone but they started at a lower level than a team like Red Bull of McLaren.

They won't cut the laps because one or two drivers are dropping out because of endurance issues. More like one every few years.
