Sky Sports in the UK as well. At this point it seems like a case of when, not if, it'll be announced. Incredible! Sky are going hardest. Reporting it as happening. Worth keeping in mind though that there still does not seem to be certainty around whether Hamilton has actually signed yet. BBC are re...

Re: Silly Season 2025

I know it's a big *if*, but if this is all true and does happen, surely that doesn't bode well for Mercedes in 2024? Lewis must have a decent idea of where they're at and how competitive the car may be, and if - before they've even had it on track - he's deciding to abandon them for Ferrari, that co...

Re: Silly Season 2025

I wonder if true what could ferrari have offered lewis to get him to leave merc. At this stage in his career and with the wealth he has amassed, I wouldn't be shocked if it ultimately boils down to the belief that they'll offer him a better chance of winning an 8th WDC. Plus perhaps a certain amoun...

It's embarrassing - although not the least bit surprising - that they've rejected them. All about money and nothing to do with actually improving the show, which Andretti would've done. To suggest they would be uncompetitive or that the Andretti name wouldn't bring value to F1 is just laughable when...

Re: The Official Lando Norris thread

I think with the driver situation it's because in recent years 50% of new drivers have been pay drivers and not the best drivers they could have gone for so naturally they have failed which then puts them off going with a young driver again, Haas would be a prime example. Is this much of a change f...

I can't say I'm too sad to see the potential back of Catalunya. Even with the optimal layout, it's still not great and rarely gives us great races. As with any new track I'll wait to see it in action before completely writing it off but I'm not overly excited about another Spanish street track, and ...

Re: PF1 Forum TMW 2024 prediction thread 2: Williams and AlphaTauri

As long as Sainz doesn't decide he wants out of Ferrari I don't see Albon leaving Williams anytime soon. If Albon was available it might not be Sainz's choice to stay at Ferrari, certainly priority is being given to sort out Leclerc's contract first. I think Sainz would be Ferrari's first choice. T...

Is it too much of a stretch to imagine Albon making it back into the second RB seat? I'm not convinced by either of the two AT drivers and would have been tempted to plump for Lawson if anyone. Albon, meanwhile, has mullered Sargeant who has beaten Lawson in a junior series (yes, that's not necessa...

Re: PF1 Forum TMW 2024 prediction thread 2: Williams and AlphaTauri

I went with Albon and Tsunoda. Albon/Sargeant is right there with Verstappen/Perez as the pairing that takes the least contemplation. I'm not sure it'll be a clean sweep again this year as I feel we're probably due a weekend where Sargeant is the less bad Williams driver, but I would be surprised if...

PF1 Forum TMW 2024 prediction thread 2: Williams and AlphaTauri

Honestly, was it so much to ask that AlphaTauri confirm their new name before I had to write this thread up?! So for now, our second poll will have to use the one name we know they won't be using in 2024, and also features the upwardly mobile Williams team. AlphaTauri Daniel Ricciardo -versus- Yuki ...

Re: F1 Gossip/Rumour/Inside news Thread

The reality of it is that Haas finished 10th in the WCC and scored 1/3 of the points they did in 2022. If finishing last in 2021 was excusable because of the handicap of running two rookie drivers (and taking Mazepin basically purely for $$$) then that's an argument I can accept, but they definitely...

I don't which fact is crazier, that Checo only got five votes across the final 18 races, or that he got 60% of those votes in a race in which he retired twice (just so he could serve a penalty and not get a grid drop for the next race)! My completely random prediction is that Perez is in Sargeant's seat by the time F1 returns from the summer break next year.
