Re: Winning Streaks in the Lewis Hamilton Era
Unbelievably consistent driver + unbelievably consistent team + reliability + a little bit of luck = Verstappen's epic streaks. Hamilton's streak >4 breaks: 2014 4 streak: Beaten on merit by Rosberg. 2014 5 streak: Beaten on merit by Rosberg. 2016 4 streak: Beaten on merit by Rosberg. 2016-17 4 str...

Re: The best season performance from any driver
I think it's sad some fans now see this as a 'normal' option. And in this specific case, risking your own car to risk your only chance of a win this season, seems very unwise to me. Perhaps Charles noted last year how Hamilton failed to retain his only chance of a race win in Brazil. It's not the "...

I believe he outqualified Norris 8-7 post-Spa. I see I just collect my data differently and don't include wet qualifying that being said I have it at 5-5 including the sprint qualifying, I guess I'm just more focused on the average which changed very little. So yes I overlooked that but if we take ...

It is feasible that both the Red Bull has been arguably the most dominant car and that Max Verstappen has been the most relentless driver. I don't see why one should diminish the other.

Another great job from Leclerc in Q3. I didn’t think the Ferrari had anything close to front row pace throughout qualifying today. I think he’s outqualified Sainz every race since Singapore. Same with Hulkenberg; I expected Magnussen to dominate him this year but he has put Magnussen enti...

Sainz causing problems for drivers driving slowly just off the racing line giving drivers on fast laps perhaps problems to commit, this I've brought up before drivers not leaving as much room as they could, it sounds like Sainz is well known for it, I'm not sure how much it's a game to be played. Re: This Is Getting Ridiculous. Fillipe Massa is Looking At Legal Options Over 2008 F1 Title Outcome.
2008 and 2021 are not comparable incidents at all. One involves an error made by an official (which, let's not forget, the team had every opportunity to contest but chose not to, as they perhaps rightly guessed they had no chance of winning that one) whereas the other involves a proven case of chea...

The thing with precedent is, that there is a first for everything. I did defend Masi, and continue to do so. But I disagree with many that resolving 2008 opens the door to "resolving" 2021, for the simple reason that the regulations allowed what Masi did. Whether Ecclestone was correct about the an...

2008 is a very weird year if look into the performance of the drivers. You could make the argument that the none of the best performing drivers that year finished in the top 3 of the final standings. For Massa was his best year though while for Raikkonen (his teammate) and Hamilton (his main rival)...

Lewis recently felt the need to describe him as someone who only won one WDC, inferring some status difference. I could elaborate but suffice to say that a true champion is graceful in defeat. Look at the bit I put in bold. They were far from friends by 2016. I also don't think Hamilton has been th...

I guess the tipping point, in respect to driver replacements, will come with retirements. Alonso and Hamilton stand out in terms of this (41 and 38 respectively) with Hulkenberg having just turned 35.

Was annulling the 2008 Singapore GP mandatory? I was under the impression that it was one of the options available (had it not been swept under the carpet at the time). In other words, even if this had been more transparent, it was not a given that the race would be declared void.

On one hand, Alonso could be a perfect foil for Verstappen and that experience (bearing in mind that Verstappen is a long way from beng a novice himself now!) passed on to Max may well result in a frighteningly dominant driver. On the other hand, should Alonso find himself wth a genuine shot at anot...

I wouldn’t mind this ruling by the stewards if they didn’t imply you could not stop in the pitlane in the first place. Why say now it’s ok?! Hamilton has had - what? - almost 17 years in F1. I'd assume, with that amount of experience, a driver would gain an insight into the (aerodynamic) engineering of an F1 car and, whilst certainly far from an expert, should be able to provide a very good bum-in-seat perspective.
