Re: Hungary Merc Team Orders: Did Hamilton make the right ca
I really don't get why there is such a big discussion on this. Rosberg had a different strategy, and the team wanted Hamilton to let him pass in order to benefit their chances of a win. If Nico hadn't been held up by Hamilton, he would have been in a great position to win the race. However, it was ...

Re: Was Vettel a mirage?
No, Vettel was not a 'mirage'. But at the same time, he isn't (and never was) as good as his fans & the media played him up to be. I think people ought to realise that you don't have to be an elite talent to win a WDC, or even to become a multiple WDC. Remember Button in 2009? Imagine if he'd had th...

Quite incredible, this - After seven weekends, Palmer is 9 points short of Leimer's points total from the whole of last season, which consisted of 11 race weekends. Nasr is only five points short of his own points total from last year, when he finished 4th in the championship. GP2 is on a totally di...

How could he not know someone is there? If K-Mag did that when it was only 2 cars on track you could maybe question it, but on the first corner you have cars going in 3 abreast and being slightly ahead does not entitle you to the racing line - cars simply can't duck and dive off it because they hap...

Why does it matter that somewhere before T1 he was somewhere in the vicinity of Bottas' right side? He made sure to back off and didn't try go to three wide into the corner. Very close between Bottas and Alonso for me but Bottas gets it by a whisker. Aggressively carved his way through the field at the beginning and was never under threat once he got into second place. There's no way you can make solid, reliable car rankings at the moment. The car/PU combinations each have different strengths and weaknesses, so the order is different at every track. You can perhaps rank the cars based on downforce, mechanical grip, tyre wear, traction etc. and then come up with an...

Alonso wasn't that impressive. He got himself a silly penalty and failed to pass Button in a much faster car. I predicted this a few weeks ago. Kimi's contract is up and I highly doubt Ferrari will keep him on. Jenson is on his way out. I've been saying that ever since the Honda engine deal was announced. The one year contract pretty much confirmed it for me. To my mind, it's madness. Button had the only real poor weekend he's had all year and Ron starts calling him out.
It's a sign of the pressure Jenson is under. Given the pay packet he has, McLaren are looking for any excuse to dump him. But to do so would be ill-advised when there are probably no better alternatives.
