Re: Who will win the Championships?
The primary difference to me is in the teams. Merc has been the marginally better car this year and Verstappen has been marginally the better driver (in my opnion). THe RB strategy team has been pretty switched on whilst Merc have been almost passive in this respect. It's demonstrated in RB/Max ext...

I also feel that Hamilton's errors are overblown, that is, they have not affected the WDC the way car-track set ups and strategies have. To me really where Hamilton could have done better - Monaco. Maybe, Baku for the brake magic, but really he was on the backfoot for 48 laps. Its not really an err...

Re: Mercedes vs Red Bull - 2021
Definately makes me think this season isnt a simple case of max great, lewis error strewn Even I wouldn't go that far. Verstappen has been metronomically good and made hay while the sun shone. Hamilton has made a few major errors that Verstappen simply hasn't. Operational factors (strategy and ICE ...

Re: Mercedes vs Red Bull - 2021
The problem I have with AMUS is that they always score every unclear race in favour of Mercedes - Emilia Romagna - Paul Ricard - Silverstone If you switch them, then the score changes from 10-6 to 7-9 in favour of Mercedes. Although to be honest, I wouldn't score any of those races. That brings the...

Re: Who will win the Championships?
Not sure what Merc could have done in France. It was similar to what happened yesterday. Similar to what happened to RB in Spain. Sure, in hindsight we can say that they could have stopped early, but that's not reasonable. Once the guy in the second stops you are basically a sitting duck. Sometimes...

Re: Mercedes vs Red Bull - 2021
Hughes has a habit of underselling the speed of Mercedes relative to its rivals as a method to oversell what Hamilton is doing. I wouldn’t take what he writes too seriously. Pretty much matches Amus if I am correct, I'm sure you would take him serious if Hughes said the Mercedes was faster. I don’t...

Racing incident for me - both drivers could have done more to avoid it though. And I have it at 4.5-4.5 between the two cars at the end of 9 races - not sure what that's supposed to prove? End of the day it is an opinion piece (AMuS is not doing a pace breakdown), and AMuS more often than not awards it to the car that wins (see France where RBR is given the point, when it was...

Now with race pace I wonder exactly how you measure that, AMuS has it 7-2 in favour of Red Bull although there's no actual timed difference given with that. May I say that, in my opinion, the most obvious difference between Ferrari 2017/2018 and Red Bull 2021 is the constant quality of RB pitwall strategies ? This. The 2017/18 Ferrari was a quick car but the team strategy sometimes left Vettel on the back foot. I'm sure that some of his much-discussed ...

I'm curious if there is much Hamilton can do in his own power to reclaim 'driver of the season' accolade. Verstappen has clearly been the better driver of the two after 6 rounds. Not denying Vettel lost more points to reliability, but 14 more points than Hamilton is hardly disproportionate, could've been even less if we explore how Hamilton's radio issues in Hungary negatively impacted his race (his ability to explore a more optimal strategy with the team). I seem to recall...
