Ferrari / RedBull dominant years starting to look meagre?
Mercedes are going to go for an unprecedented 6th double championship win this year with crash kids Vettel and Verstappen the only likely opposition barring a major breakthrough from Honda or Renault. Are Ferrari's 2000-04 and Red Bull's 2010-13's glory years starting to look like just a short win s...

Re: Who will improve the most in 2019: Red Bull or McLaren?
Red Bull are more likely to go backwards than forwards with a new engine. They need to wait until the next rule changes to realistically beat Mercedes, and even then Mercedes and Ferrari will likely still have a better engine. The other teams need a tie up with BMW or Audi if they want to get compet...

Re: Haas lodges protest against Racing Point Force India
I think Haas are in the right. Force India was scoring very well but run to the ground. a bit like Leeds United, who got to the Champion's League and then went bankrupt. The new owners should have had to wait to receive payments or the new teams ought to have this waiting period removed before that ...

Verstappen should have been given blue flag to let Ocon thru
If we are to have blue flags that let pace setters pass backmarkers safely, and not interfere with each other's race, then if the race leader becomes slower than the lapped car, surely then he must be also given a blue flag or a new type of flag and maybe a radio message to let the faster back marke...

Re: If Hamilton won in 2016, how many WDCs would he have now
Lewis gets stronger each year intrementally improving every area such as speed, racecraft, publicity, management, mind games etc. Having said that, had Nico stayed on and endured more arguments and squabbling I think Mercedes would have eventually lost a championship to Ferrari. But we will never kn...

Lewis should have known Mercedes were investing in the 2014 Mercedes engine to be unbeatable. He must have had knowledge from Mercedes, McLaren and Honda.

Re: Which of Schumacher's remaining records will Lewis break
Hamilton will most likely match or pass Schumacher for WDCs and wins in 2-3 years. Nobody is better than him in the grand scheme of things. He does everything a driver needs to do: drives fast, communicates with the engineers, communicates with the fans. He started humble and learned to be ruthless....

Re: Mick (son of Michael) Schumacher
I have little doubt Mick will be F1 champion in the near future. He may even be the one to take over from Lewis. The real talent in F1 is attracting more talent to work around you and Mick I think has inherited that from his father. I am sure he will bring something new to the table as well.

Re: Should Mercedes setup a B team?
I think Ocon and Russell ought to try Indycar, WEC or FE if they cannot get a seat for 2019. The reason being, Lewis Hamilton is gonna be Mercedes no. 1 driver for quite a while yet, so they might as well be successful in lower series rather than end up like Hulkenberg, Perez, and Grosjean, enjoying...

I think anyone not a manufacturer of road cars counts as a true privateer alothpugh strictly speaking a privateer ought to be privately owned. For example, McLaren began as a privateer but as they began producing road cars they transformed into a larger bluechip business structure.

It would be nice if there was championship tables and stats for privateer / non works teams and drivers back to 1950 so we can see who the real talent is without the additional engine / moneybags advantages the car manufacturers get. Maybe someone like Dolomite could bring these stats up please? ;) ...

It would be good to call say sportsman's championships and sportsman's wins to drivers who deserved in the spirit of the sport or were cheated in some way.
But tbh F1 is a business and most drivers ought to be happy with the insane amount of money they earn to care too much about single wins.

All drivers need to accept the risk they might have a fatal accident but you mustn't adopt a fatal driving style. You don't defend to the point of colliding.
Having said that I think Gasly needed to be further ahead to pass and should have backed off.

F1 is meant to be the pinnacle of motorsport and the forefront of technology. I'd like to see McLaren doing a LeMans program, but let's face it, you pretty much have to be a engine manufacturer to be successful today in top tier motorsport. It's not even good enough being a works team, the engine has to be in synergy with the rest of the car. That's where the performance is f...

The most obvious place for it should be Amazon Prime. Then they could target products to consumers more directly. Amazon are rumoured to start bidding against Sky and BT for football, I wouldn't be surprised if they became the number 1 sports broadcaster one day.
