Re: Kobayashi sets up website to try and raise funds

Sponsors give money to drivers/teams in exchange for exposure, it is mutually beneficial. What exactly is happening here? Is he just asking for free money? That's actually quite pathetic and demeaning. I find it even weirder that people are giving the money. If you want to donate to a cause then do...

Re: Kobayashi sets up website to try and raise funds

I just don't get why so many people talk Kobayashi down. He's shown himself to be the match or better than drivers with huge amounts of backing. Plus despite his struggles I've never heard of him bitching childishly about it. He's fighting to keep a job he happens to be very good at. All the best to...

Re: Kobayashi out Gutierrez in

In a way, I can understand Sauber's position - he hasn't performed, it's that simple. Time to give someone else a chance. The points simply do not reflect that. He's scored 60 points to Perez's 66. He brings no sponsorship - that's the real problem. Kobayashi went for it today and it was great to w...

Re: Kobayashi out Gutierrez in

Unbelievably stupid move from Kobayashi, something like this is borderline in dry, but divebombing in wet is moronic, that's the proper word to describe it. Looking at their respective performances in Malaysia and looking how fast Sauber was today, Perez had a real chance of winning. Unfortunately ...

What worries me is how basic that website is! Japanese only? No secure donation options? Kobayashi's people don't seem to be very web savvy....

Anyway, hopefully he'll bag another seat or a reserve drive somewhere.

Re: Nelson Piquet Jr. on Alonso and other drivers

I actually have alot of sympathy for the situation Piquet Jnr found himself in. He was 23 and was railroaded into his actions by a thoroughly unscrupulous Briatore. Of course he should have known better, but I don't see why he should pay for it for the rest of his life. He's now doing very well in N...

Lack of experience and pressure are always going to be factors, but I can't wait for these daft front wings to be narrowed in 2014. Since drivers now sit so low they struggle to know where the corner of their car is. With pre 2009 wings the corner of your car with repesct to someone overtaking was u...

I suspect he may have kept it with today's showing.

Plus he's very close to Perez and ahead of both Di Resta and Hulkenberg on points. Quite why he deserves the chop whilst they deserve to go onto better things is beyond me.

Did a better job than Perez by virtue of reaching the finish line without hitting anyone. Didn't have much pace though, Perez was making inroads into the top 5 early in the race while he kinda sat in 8th doing not a lot. He seems to have lost his way a bit post Japan... I'd love to know how many of these types of incidents have involved the stupidly (IMHO) wide front wings drivers have had to race with since 2009. He's got his confidence back. His accident took the edge off his pace whilst he had to adjust to being in a team with Alonso. He's now twigged that following Alonso closely reflects well on him. I agree that Perez is a great driver, but the Sauber does seem to allow him use a "go long" strategy to pull out those results.

I'm just puzzled as to why Kobayashi's side of the garage don't do the same. He seems to qualify well only to go backwards on an orthodox strategy.
