Re: My top 100

In all honesty, I think this is pretty much faultless. Maybe DC is a bit highly rated in comparison with Alesi and Kubica but that's about it. Really? DC had 13 wins. Kubica and Alesi had 1 win each (and both of them were by way of benefiting from people falling off the road ahead of them - Räikkön...

Its very difficult, i feel Moss shouldn't be there if you have both Ascari and Fangio from the 50's, i don't see how any one decade should really dominate, were are into our 7th decade now. Re: My top 100

Ever since I was a small child I have been obsessed with trying to put F1 drivers into some sort of greatest of all time order. I know its impossible and obviously everybody's list would be different (mine changes almost every time I look at it!). Defining greatest is always difficult. I try to wor...

Hamilton helped Mercedes becoming what they are today. No he did not have input on the engines, but the chassis, balance and aero are top notch, and that has to be credited to the drivers. How? With their non-existent education in physics and aerodynamics? You mention Hamilton, yet the '09 McLaren ...

The OP is talking a load of rubbish. The idea that drivers help develop cars is the biggest myth in modern F1. I completely understand the idea that Alonso's driving style is difficult to develop around. But even then, Renault were able to develop around it just fine. So were McLaren. Even Ferrari h...

Williams would be much worse off with Maldonado in the team this season. Not only is he erratic, he isn't even that quick. Senna was simply very slow in 2012.

Perez was DOTD for the reasons Zoue mentioned. However, I think Alonso was a close second. To get that Ferrari anywhere near Williams, at the strongest track of the year for the latter team, was incredibly impressive.

Great GP2 race today. Nasr has come alive since his win in Barcelona, but the fact he has taken so long to discover this kind of form must count against him in F1 circles. Good to see Vandoorne and Marciello coming good, too, as I thought they would. It's great to see that promising young talents ca...

I have been underwhelmed by Vandoorne's racecraft in GP2 even given his uncompetitive car and McLaren would be mad to put him into F1 ahead of the proven Button and the younger Magnussen. Button and Magnussen are a strong pairing, they just need McLaren to give them a better car for them both to sh...

I must admit I don't really understand how Bottas & Button/Alonso & Hulkenberg can be put together when they are both top 8 in WDC & there are 8 groups. Button and Hulkenberg are clearly top 8 drivers this year IMHO.

Re: Last time a circuit came back in its original guise?

All fair points. It does rather depend which Calendar the OP means. F1 calendar or Grand Prix calendar. I thought the track layout (circuit shape) after the 2010 rebuild was meant to be pretty much the same except for a lot of excavation and resurfacing, i.e. different tarmac but same layout. I'll ...

It always was good considering they found Vettel, and that Buemi and Alguersuari were moderately successful. I think many saw them as a bit stupid for dropping both STR drivers in 2011.
