Re: How long will F1 remain a fossil fuel sport? (SPLIT THRE
Some valid points in there but I don't really see why you have to get so irate over the issue, if you know stuff then why not just share it? It is true that the the production of batteries can produce as many greenhouse gases as it saves. There has to be a start somewhere or are you suggesting we j...

Re: How long will F1 remain a fossil fuel sport? (SPLIT THRE
Production of fossil fuel vehicles may well end in the next few decades, but the fuels themselves will never be banned. Never. Think of the millions and millions of cars, bikes and scooters that would need to be scrapped or converted. Legislation against that level of wastefulness is more likely tha...

F1 would lose some fans, no doubt, and you might be among them. But why do you think the manufacturers would no longer be there? There are more manufacturers in FE right now than in F1. Two points: 1) As Pokerman states above "......I will, I would see it as the end of F1, also let's not forget tha...

Kimi was responsible for about 50% of the harm to Verstappen. Verstappen was responsible for about 50% of the harm to Verstappen. They share the blame for what they did to each other. Racing incident. However, objectively Kimi is only very slightly responsible for the harm inflicted on himself. Ver...

Didn't Senna say to Jackie Stewart that if you no longer go for a gap then you are no longer a racing driver. He did. As justification for a horrific act of poor sportsmanship that could have resulted in injuries or worse. Also Max had enough of his car alongside to be regarded as alongside, otherw...

When did Renault brag they had the biggest budget and most powerful engine? As for the engine, this thread is about Renault claiming 1,000 hp and their competitors responding by saying that their own power units aren't producing 1,000 hp. Renault also claim 960 to 970 hp in racing trim, which is si...

I hate to say it but that looked pretty poor from Albon. Yes, he's probably a bit better than Gasly but he needs to be a significant improvement over him. How is it relevant now? F1 is a frivolous, elitist playground for the 0.01% and has been so for decades. Any relevance to the car industry is from a marketing point of view, not an engineering one. Marketing is what keeps F1 afloat. Precisely. There doesn't need to be a scrap of engineering trickle...

Why does F1 have to go electric? They still race horses you know. Let the manufacturers chase the marketing dollar and go to FE. No. Because that whole move is just motor racing - from karts to F1 it's no different. If you leave a gap on the inside big enough another to car to fit into - you run a risk. They will take it and you WILL be run wide on the exit if you stay there. It's that simple. Accept that and either back out...

Leaving the rules aside for a moment, how many people here still think "The Pass" by Zanardi at Laguna Seca in '96 was a legit move? He was the attacking driver, but he left the track and impeded his opponent upon rejoining. It's actually a fairly similar incident all things considered.

Wonder how far back in time you need to go to be able to actually start and run the car without a team of engineers and laptops? They won't have to match Max' salary, why would they? Depends. The question Ricciardo needs to ask himself is do any of his options for 2019 have a chance at the title? At this point with the Ferrari door closing the answer is probably no. Honda are better this year for sure, but in the overall scheme of things they are still by far the weakest PU, both in term...

The RB14 might just be the best chassis Red Bull have made since the RB9. Renault should be singing their praises for flattering their engine so much.
