Re: Should Bottas contract be extended?
That team order in Singapore is the most pathetic team order in living memory. There is not a non-Mercedes single driver within 90 points of Hamilton and there are only 6 races left to go. Utterly pathetic, even Austria 2002 was more understandable than this. It was made because Mercedes thought th...

Re: Should Bottas contract be extended?
Part of me did wonder whether Bottas would have been managed differently in this race if he had got the job done in Monza (though I also felt that they should have let Bottas by to have a go on his fresher tyres earlier, rather than waiting for Hamilton to make a mistake and take the decision out o...

Re: Should Bottas contract be extended?
By doing what they did Mercedes ensured 4th and 5th rather than 4th and 6th, isn't this what's getting a pass for what Ferrari did which cost Leclerc the win? Nominally it's Bottas that got protected from finishing 6th behind Albon by being allowed to pit before Hamilton. I think what they did make...

Re: Should Bottas contract be extended?
Was this the first time a driver was told to slow down 3.4 seconds a lap to keep from passing his teammate? Bottas should have at least received a warning from race control for brake checking Albon. This situation was embarrassing and considering Mercedes were fighting over 4th to 6th here with onl...

Albon doing his best Gasly impression. 1 sec away from Max. Jeez. I guess that car is just tailored to Max's driving style. Ferrari are nowhere They just don't have any downforce compared to RB and Merc do they? Looks like pole will be between Max and Lewis. Noone else is close at the moment. Not w...

Re: Vettel and his Ferrari drive
In my understanding, Vettel likes cars with more downforce. All of his mishaps are a copycat of each other. He looses the end of the car. I'm baffled to why Ferrari did not take this in consideration, building the car with more downforce. His domination ended in 2014 when blown difuser, which added...

Leclerc has admitted that he intentionally put Hamilton off the circuit, he didn't forget 'I thought I left a cars width. I was pretty sure their was a cars width' Leclerc. On Racefans headline Leclerc 'I thought I left a cars width' for Hamilton. Hence my 'forgot' how wide his car was. I am pretty...

Yes, but he needs to tone it down. Right now he is driving just like Verstappen and I think most agree that Verstappen's style is generally too agressive. To me its just a short term gain with very little long time reward. Pre Monza Leclerc had a helpful teammate who I doubt will be doing him anymo...

That out lap for the entire field was a fiasco. Really not sure that one can point the finger at any specific driver. I point the finger at Hulk, and then Stroll. I think a happy Vettel, in a car he likes, is still a force to be reckoned with. An on form Vettel may still be the fastest guy on the grid. Think I would just go for Leclerc and Ricciardo. Don't understand the votes for Hamilton. I haven't read the entire thread but are we agreeing with Lewis that it was Leclerc that was the reason for the quali farce as he was trying to protect his pole? So under this new enforce the track limits, Hamilton would have been penalised after Leclerc had him off; and maybe had the penalty rescinded some time in the future?......and later both Ham and Leclerc would have penalised for missing turn 1. So a nice sedate drive to the flag for the eventual winn...

Re: Radical idea- enforce track limits on all tracks
Yes we could penalise every driver who was forced off the track by another, dodged a bit of debris , missed a breaking point, etc. Just find a way of policing 5 miles or so of white lines x 20 cars. And then sit around for a few hours whilst the stewards worked out the penalties they had to rescind ...

Meanwhile Seb or Valt coast to a WDC by playing it safe and picking up the pieces. :frown: Have you seen Vettel drive in the last few years? He’s incapable of playing it safe. Playing it safe assumes a degree of control. Not to be confused with driving badly; which Seb has in the last few years.
