And yet Senna still managed 5 wins that year to finish 2nd in the championship in what was clearlythen the 2nd, & even sometimes the 3rd best car on the grid. His season that year simply dwarfs anything Verstappen achieved this year. That is why I separated seasons by different levels of car compet...

Re: The best season performance from any driver
To talk up Verstappens would be my guess. The reason why I scoff at the notion that the RB19 has a bigger advantage than Mercedes cars of the past did is not because I feel some urge to talk up Verstappen, but because it’s not true. It really is that simple, none of the numbers support this opinion...

The fact that Perez, despite being "broken" by Verstappen as you call it, secured second with a race to go and with > 50 points advantage at the end of the season clearly demonstrates the ludicrous and unique dominance that the RB 19 enjoyed The reason why Perez was able to secure P2 in the standin...

Re: 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix Race Thread
I have to agree. Over the years the bias towards Hamilton has slowly been shifting. There is just a handful of loyal Lewis fans left. In general they are very vocal though. That is because he is not in contention. See how even Russell gets bashed recently when things got just a little bit heated......

What was that about when Merc's were blocking Max for no reason ? Were they trying to gherkin him off or something ??? If you refer to the incident in the pit-out tunnel, the Merc was ahead of Verstappen, and he really had no right to force his way past (in the tunnel). An incident there would have...

Re: This Is Getting Ridiculous. Fillipe Massa is Looking At Legal Options Over 2008 F1 Title Outcome.
Think Fiki meant to say "he", not "now". I can't see how AD'21 was Lewis' fault, except for him not defending the inside at the corner he got overtaken on. I suspect he was caught napping there by Verstappen; and good for Verstappen, as I remain convinced Lewis would have pulled the "he pushed me o...

Fourth point: the ticket allows entry to the event space (tick), the catering area (tick) and view of the track (tick). I am not saying this is how it should be, but this is how any organiser protects itself against potential legal challenges. Read the details if you can bear to spend the time: htt...

Didn't really get any feel for how many fans were trackside or where they were - may have just been the coverage, but it felt like they were racing in a neon lit ghost town I did notice during quali that there were a lot of empty seats in the main stands and a few of the smaller stands were almost ...

Of course, F1 must pay the money back to the spectators. That's very clear IMO. Don't they do that voluntarily already? Probably not and even a lawsuit might come up short. F1 might just do it anyways for good PR that they need desperately. The claim is $30.000 per plaintiff (a potential -and what ...

The race was good though I do wonder how good it would've been without the SC's. Tracks not bad. Definitely a step up from Miami & Singapore. As for the hype, though it wasn't as bad as what I thought it was still very cringy. Hopefully over time they tone it down. For me the most distasteful part o...

No idea who's fault that was but Kudos to Russell for actually being willing to try and race Verstappen. Lando Norris should take note. Edit - I take it all back that was definitely Russell's fault. Re: F1 Is to be Sued.
Lazenby said in the pre FP3 show that everyone who attended FP1 would get something like a $200 voucher to spend at some shop there.
I'm guessing it'd be the F1 store at the track, which, if true, is a pretty ordinary form of compensation in more ways than one.

Re: 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
Perez has been awful in qualifying this year. That's 9 times he's not made it through to Q3 in what has almost always been the fastest car. Compare that to Bottas who always made it out of Q2 for 5 whole years when he was at Mercedes. And it could easily be said that ferrari were nearly matched to ...
