Re: 2018 Italian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Threa
KIMI! Now if the cars can just be that close for the rest of the season were in for one hell of a championship fight. If the cars are like this for the rest of the year, Ferrari will run away with both titles. Ferrari are clearly fastest here. This is one of Lewis's strongest tracks and he did a gr...

Hard to tell, not a good start from Merc left the door open for Ferrari this time.
Might be the first time since 2013 the Mercs are really challenged, the second half off the last 4 years have been Merc all day, let's hope this continues

First time I've heard that you have to leave room for a car that you have already passed.
Can anyone point to that rule?

Merc have really had success with their illusion that they're not a fast car at all and always winning despite being slower... This was the last special tyre for this season and Merc easily had the pace. If it's engine wise or chassi/tyre hard to tell.

What is it with these people here desperately trying to prove that the Ferrari engine is better than the Mercedes engine while no one in the paddock is saying that? Some interesting views but what's pleasantly suprising is the objectivess suggested by the voting so far with the majority saying racing incident. Normally an incident with a high profile driver polarises opinion one way the other. The majority don't think that - currently only 16/44 (36%) suggest ...

Well, I have not claimed that Hamilton wants competition, so I am not sure why you are pointing that to me? Neither did I claim Vettel does not want Leclerc. I am quite sure he thinks he can beat him without too much problems. I am not so sure whether he was fine with Ricciardo as well and can well...

Yes, the team mate is the gauge. The be all and end all . If Vettel wasn't out classed by Ricciardo in 2014 he would now be considered almost Schumacher level great or at least the finest driver of this generation. Re: Rookies The teammate dilemma
I agree and it's not only team mate that's a factor. Vandoorne is in a car that is slower than expected whilst Leclerc is driving for a team we aren't used to seeing score points. If Leclerc was achieving the same results in a Williams as he is for Sauber he wouldn't be receiving plaudits that he i...

The material is also a huge contribution to a rookies possibility to show progress. Leclerc has a very good form in a car that's getting better and better and noone expects him to put in in a points position. McLaren expects to be in points and is probably very demanding to do it in, in the last rac...

Re: Mercedes v Ferrari v Red Bull - 2018 edition
With a Verstappen lap, Merc would have had pole and probably won.
With a 7 race old engine Merc is right behind.
Vettel didn't dominate nearly like Merc in Spain.
This was not a race to judge the rest off the season from, IMO it's still advantage Merc, but their #1 driver didn't deliver.

Rosberg beat Hamilton in his last year, but IMO Rosberg showed terrible racecraft over their years, and Bottas, if he is allowed to take it to Hamilton will be better at that.
But IMO Merc doesn't have the best driver couple anymore, when the car isn't dominant it is more obvious.

According to Marc Priestly, former Mclaren f1 mechanic, this whole tyre conspiracy is much a do about nothing. And Ferrari was one of the teams that complained about the blistering, and therefore were also responsible for the change. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=931&v=G8W_vizIGf4 Ski...
