Yes is agree, but I was replying to your 2nd paragraph in which you speculated Albon could have left room. You don’t leave room for something you are unaware of.

Re: 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix Race Thread
Looking at that Joleon Palmer video, he blames SV for coming across into Leclerc, with SV's rear wheel in line with CL's front wheel. I agree with him here. But then he doesn't blame Albon for coming across into Hamilton, with Albon's rear wheel in line with LH's front wheel in pretty much the same...

Re: The future of Sebastian Vettel
He has improved the last 3-4 races, he looked finished 5 races ago to be honest. Leclerc was showing him up for the middle of the season but he has bounced back well. If that heavy beating carried on he might have retired but I think he will stay now. His problem is, because Leclerc makes many error...

Re: Albon in, Gasly out
I’m in agreement with F1 racer for once, but I do want to see the onboards. That wasn’t Hamiltons fault and a big trait of the current Hamilton is to be over apologetic (unless it’s with Rosberg) and very self critical to his own mistakes. So his apology to me is more a sorry I lost you your first p...

Re: 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix Race Thread
Mercedes strategy for Hamilton was fine by me, they made all the right calls for attempting to win and not concerned with anything else. They told Hamilton to do the opposite to Verstappen which was his only chance to win the race. If they both pit then Verstappen wins. The final Hamilton pit stop w...

Re: 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix Race Thread
I'm not defending the SC decisions, but it seems that as soon as a tractor is needed on track, the SC is deployed. Probably a change in protocol to prevent a repeat of Bianchi. That would be a sensible approach if it weren't for the fact that as soon as a safety car is called they bring the tractor...

Re: Coverage "improvements" that are just not working out.
10 minute past the hour is to allow longer and better coverage for many regions where F1 is crammed into a schedule. Most TV shows are scheduled on the hour or half past the hour. In many regions F1 show would start at say 1pm and the race would start at 1pm. The coverage would literally start with ...

Re: Albon in, Gasly out
The reason Bottas was able to do that hold up job at Monza 2018 was because he was slow that weekend. He was 10 seconds off the lead on lap 21 when Kimi pitted. The number two needs to be quick but not too quick. Well actually if they are quick they can be used to undercut rivals and force them into...

I agree with everything Hog, except for the graphics which I feel the opposite. The more information the better and its not like they are ever over the action. The action isn’t ever at the edges and framed accordingly. The tyre data is useless though and needs to go.

It was interesting you used Leclerc too, the same Leclerc who was 5-1 down in qualifying against Vettel and generally well beaten - bahrain aside - in there first 7-8 races of the season by Vettel. Re: Albon in, Gasly out
How do you think Lewis Hamilton would do against Bottas in these 2 scenarios? 1- Both do a full pre season, clocking up 8 full race distances between them. Tweaking and developing the car over 10 days and continue with the engineers they have been working with the last couple of years. 2- Bottas dri...

Re: Was Ferrari infringing on the technical directive before
Ferrar did look very slow on sunday but I am willing to put this down to an off Vettel weekend and Leclerc lacking track time and on an old power unit. We will get the answer next race anyway. It does seem very suspicious though. Even without any trick, judging by customers performance and the works...

Mclaren had 5-6 diferent front suspensions for Montoya and Kimi in 2005/06 too. Mclaren technical folk have gone on record saying the 2 cars ran two completely different concepts and it was close to running two completely different front ends. The same occured with Alesi and Berger when they were te...

Re: Which of Schumacher's remaining records will Lewis break
1997 and 1999 are similar. Irvine was able to fight for the title because he had 1 DNF whilst Häkkinen had 5.
Häkkinens 1999 and JV’s 1997 have a lot of parallels. To the extent that HHF was in contention with 3 races to go in 1999.

Re: Which of Schumacher's remaining records will Lewis break
Those are some very misleading statistics. Vettel was by far the unluckiest driver of 2010 and lost 3 wins in Bahrain, Australia and Korea alone due to mechanical problems. With Webber’s reliability, Vettel would have won 2010 with several races to spare. If Hamilton had just settled for a safe 4th...

Re: Which of Schumacher's remaining records will Lewis break
I’m sure Schumacher would have. The 2003 Williams pretty much looked the best best car anyway. 2000 was very close and Schumacher was better than Häkkinen so yes. However Schumacher was below par in 2003 himself. Barrichello was quite close to Michael in 2003 though and it’s definitely Schumachers w...

Re: Which of Schumacher's remaining records will Lewis break
1997 wasn’t so impossible, people seem to forget JV’s DNF rate. 6 DNFs in total in a 16 race championship, including 5 DNFs in the first 10 races that gave Schumacher a championship lead. JV completely messed up another 2 races with 5ths. So he scored 4 points in half the races that year. Schumache...

Consecutive years driving for a double championship team: 6 Pretty remarkable record in itself. Re: Which of Schumacher's remaining records will Lewis break
6 consecutive WDC/WCC titles sure is impressive but its not that unusual. In the last 20 years. Red Bull did 4/4, Mercedes have done 6/6 and Ferrari did 6/5. In fact it’s pretty normal for teams to dominant for long periods. 16 of the last 21 years have been part of domination... The exceptions are...

But you agree, Verstappen massively improved though right? He went from an average of 0.5 behind over his first 8 races in 2016 to ahead in 2017. Nobody knew how quick Verstappen/Sainz were in 2015 because both were rookies. Let’s not forgot, Sainz out qualified him too. So back in 2016, I’m sure y...

The Ferrari pace was truly awful, if a rule tweak caused them to be that slow then for 2020 Mercedes are back to heavy favourites.

A very strong season from Bottas, if Hamilton had had 2016 levels of reliability and luck - Bottas would have won the title this year. Unlucky for him that year fell for Rosberg.

Any of the top 5 can win it I feel, so long as Hamilton isn’t jumped by Albon. I can see somebody winning by staying out for a long time and getting a lucky VSC/SC and quick pit stop.
