All right! Time to enjoy not being dead last until the next race! It's interesting to see the individual scores for each race all in one place like that. It certainly rather brings home that the only time I've really done well is when Mercedes encounters misfortune, which is no surprise consid...

Re: Rossi has revealed that he decline Manor drive this year
I think it's highly likely that remaining in IndyCar for the rest of this season will come out ahead for him, since he seems to be having a pretty good debut season there -- and the best he would be able to do at Manor would be to potentially match or outstrip his teammate over half a season, and th...

Re: Haryanto done - Ocon to take Manor seat
Good news overall, I'd say! It should be interesting to see how Ocon and Wehrlein stack up against each other. Haryanto didn't do as badly as I thought he would, I'll give him that, but I got the impression he was only really close to Wehrlein in qualifying towards the beginning of the sea...

Re: The funniest current driver?
I firmly believe that with perhaps very rare exceptions, everybody has a sense of humour, but whether or not other people appreciate it is a matter of preference. Since I tend to find dry and/or deadpan humour much more funny than any other kind, I often find Button and Kimi to be the most humorous....

Re: Your driver rankings for the first half of 2016!
Left entirely to my own devices, I'd probably rank several as ties, but this is my general impression. I've left Vandoorne out because I feel that one race, while impressive, does not provide enough data to judge his performance relative to the others. 1. Lewis Hamilton : The top slot is perhaps the...

Leaving aside problems that are more endemic to American TV rather than specifically the F1 coverage (way too many commercials, sudden preemptions by the darlings of American sport -- the NFL, college football and NASCAR -- and so forth), I don't have particularly many actual complaints with the cov...

My (entirely theoretical and virtual) money's on Ricciardo at this point. Red Bull certainly seem to have caught and indeed surpassed Ferrari at this point in the season, and with an interim technical director and the likely scramble to fill that position, I don't see Ferrari managing to come back a...

Re: The broken men of formula 1.
It certainly does look like this season has shattered Kvyat's morale, which -- while unfortunate -- is actually fairly understandable. If he'd shown enough resilience to bounce back and attempt to hold onto the seat in a calm fashion, I would've been impressed. Certainly it must not have helped that...

Assuming that they're waiting for something better to be fully implemented in 2018 (hopefully, in that case, a full canopy), I think it makes sense not to rush it in for 2017. It's not ideal for Ferrari, to be sure, but it's perfectly understandable why Allison would want to be nearer to his remaining family. If anything, I think it's more surprising that he stuck it out this long. I hope they can find a good replacement before the crunch of developing for the 2017 regula...

Really close between Button and Wehrlein to me, but I'm giving the edge to Button for such a great qualifying performance -- and actually managing to stay up near the front of the pack for a few laps at the beginning of the race. Both put in very impressive displays over the weekend, though.
