Re: 2024 Miami Grand Prix Race Thread
The whole Trump thing makes me laugh a bit because the PF1 article states "with McLaren chosen to represent Formula 1 for his visit to the Miami paddock." Says everything you need to know really when F1 have to elect a team for him to visit. Really hope it leaks out that they had all the team princi...

Just don't see Max jumping ship at this point. Suspect he's trying to get any details he can out of Mercedes ahead of 2026 though, or just generally act as a distraction.

I would say the essential difference is quite clear and significant; whatever there was to know in order to protest and appeal in 2021, was known on the day of the assumed wrong itself. The problem Mercedes have is that there simulation facilities (wind tunnel) etc isn't correlating to real life. It's not that their engineers have suddenly become bad it's that what the simulation tells them works doesn't work in real life. But lets not forget they still have the 4th fastest car. T...

You can just use both surely. It's a bit ridiculous not to penalise a driver everyone very clearly saw move just because the sensor said he didn't. Although I could definitely see an argument for not penalising the sort of thing Norris did as he gained no advantage and didn't do anything unsafe. so...

Having a plank that shows more wear than allowed, shows your ground clearance was insufficient, it doesn't show intent. Hmmm. I would say DRS needs to be kept with the current cars. They are still harder to follow than any apart from the 2017-21 era. Without DRS overtaking would just be impossible without a huge car advantage on most tracks. However, I would say it generally needs to be less effective than it is now...

Two things. The aero regs changed for 2005 which likely stopped them being dominant. The ban on changing tyres in the race were targeted to hit Bridgestone hard and did so. That stopped them from being a front runner. Once that rule was rescinded they were competitive again in 2006. It wasn't any k...
