Re: All the smiling gone...Vettel hit Hamilton!
Well it's fairly clear what happened to anyone paying attention. Vettel accelerated out of the corner and got caught out because Hamilton maintained his very low speed. Vettel was basically caught sleeping in autopilot expecting Hamilton to accelerate and when that didn't happen it was too late and...

Vettel brushed Hamilton. But it's possible this could have affected his head restraint.

Re: 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Race Thread
This is more proof that Toto wants Vettel in Mercedes.. how could he not condemn what Vettel did it to HIS driver? As a Vettel fan I say he was clearly in the wrong, and emotions can't justify deliberate contact. because he's not letting his emotions get the better of him. Looking at Vettel's cockp...

Re: 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Race Thread
Is Vettel serious? Is he just going to close his eyes and deny that he didn't run into Hamilton .. He'd lose no respect with me if he claimed responsibility and said it probably wasn't the right thing to do once out of the car.... I can forgive most things that happen in the heat of the moment.. Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
Might of been mentioned before but Kimi said he was called in. From skysports "Raikkonen would later confirm after the race he hadn't requested to stop. "I was called in and that's about it," he told reporters." "Moreover, the Mercedes was running slowly after switching from ultrasofts to supersoft...

Re: The mind games have started - Lewis takes the first shot
Yes. It's possible Kimi will now only drive for himself and ignore team orders, perhaps even strategy.
You rarely see Kimi show his anger. Yesterday was a first. And I think Lewis' words will sink even deeper into Kimi.

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
the critisism is that there is no way on earth ferrari would have played out the same strategy if the roles were reversed Not certain at all as the undercut at that time seemed like the prime strategy (also refer to what RBR did with Verstappen - or do we believe Verstappen is the #2 driver at RBR?...

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
I like to think team orders but considering the same happened to Max, I can only say those fast laps in the 1:15 made the difference. Both made possible by a delayed pit stop for Kimi (he wanted to pit earlier) and the few laps in traffic. Even considering both, he was in the same frame when Vettel...

There had been drivers who did well in other series but didn't fare so well in F1. Wealth or not, if Stroll doesn't perform, then he deserves that criticism. The past is irrelevant.

At the worst, Merc would lose the WDC if Kimi doesn't improve. Consistent podium finishes would give them the WCC.

Re: The Future of Kimi Raikkonen
It's hard to say too soon. Kimi could get better as the season goes and get podiums. I doubt Ferrari really cares if he beats Vettel as long as Vettel is the one winning races. All Kimi needs to do is be right near Vettel and bring home the WCC.

I'm surprised the question is even being asked if it wasn't raised as a potential regulation change by the FIA. nope this is done and dusted. just wondering if it will spice up the show and general comments seem to be yes. Manual gears in the pinnacle of motorsport! I watch this video every 6 months or so. Senna onboard at Monaco. Hand off the wheel every gear change. GTJZTc1U1tM I think it would slow the lap times down only slightly to go back to manual as those sequential gear boxes are faster than we can move. Notice also his wheel is rounded vs the ones th...

Will drivers be affected if F1 cars revert to manual trans?
Say if F1 goes back to the old gear lever and clutch pedal type of shifts, would the lap times slow down? Or more interestingly, some drivers may not be able to cope? Any thoughts?

Maserati is definitely a more suitable name. Employees do leave all of the time but not usually 4 months after signing a new contract, after pushing in long negotiations for 2 years instead of 1. If Mercedes play fair and stop blowing up Hamilton's engines there is not a driver on the grid that can better Hamilton. Cos some drivers have the opinion as long as they can win, they will do whatever it takes. Having a very strong teammate potentially reduces the odds of winning the WDC. That's a harsh reality. In the end, who won the most titles? It was the driver who chose his teammate. But some drivers take this ...

Ironically, Alonso could lose Mercedes the WDC next season. Although Alonso should increas...

I actually think there's no chance of Alonso getting the seat.
