Re: Planet F1 Winners and Losers view on the Bot v Ham incid
For me it is a racing incident-given they were not racing for position. Hamilton can always join the monkeys at the back to see how they feel about being taken out. A racing incident is one in which neither driver is really to blame for the accident that happened. In this case Hamilton caused the a...

Re: Ferrari vs Mercedes 2013?
The way Rosberg dropped back so soon in Brazil was typical of Mercedes' problems all year. I'm surprised by that comment; I was under the impression that Nico had set his car up for rain in the race, and that Hamilton gambled on a faster set-up. I wonder whether the whole illegal test episode someh...

And I think there have been worse drivers than Mazzacane in F1 such as Deletraz, Amati, Belmondo, Ide, Langes and Bertaggia. For what it's worth, Eric Van De Poele said that Amati never got the chance to prove her worth. That she was better than she was perceived to be. Something that may apply to ...

Once Lewis has left the racing line to defend he has absolutely no rights to try to regain the racing line for the corner and that's the rules Not quite, he can move back towards the racing line, but he has to leave the outside driver room - and for as long as he is alongside. The problem here wasn...

There is no way a Mazzacane, Yoong or Dalmas would get on the grid now. I can't comment on Mazzacane or Yoong, but I well remember the excitement as Dalmas was heading to F1. Harpo probably could tell us more about him pre-F1, but he isn't the only one to have disappointed. Which makes me wonder ho...

Monaco 2004. Although Trulli had his only win in that race, I really wanted to see what Michael could have done once the safety car came back in. compared to (chronological order) Alonso/Raikkonen/Hamilton/Button/Vettel, he lacks some natural instict to win. I don't know how to call it, maybe 'killer instinct'... Perhaps I misunderstand what you see as this natural instinct to win, but particularly when looking at Hamilton I would say this '...

It is nearly impossible to decide... Of those I saw racing myself, Senna was the quickest, Prost the best and Lauda the most courageous. Does Lauda's courage make up for something? it looks to me that those Pirelli tests had more to do with the issue than Lewis and Nico themselves. Well the changes in aero that were meant to be able to allow cars to follow each other and therefore increase the chances of real racing happening has failed. I mean as drivers in general they earned the reward and the honour of having those records. Michael toiled for almost a decade without the best car, and was rewarded. Vettel just strolled in and it was all served up on a platter. Just so easy, and next year they hired a number 2 driver specifically...

Re: Why the mad hunger for Button to fail?
The mad hunger to see him fail (which is different from not attracting vocal supporters), is quite understandable. The long years of waiting in sub-par cars made for lower than normal expectations. Many then slide into underrating him and are surprised/annoyed when he finally gets a car to win a cha...

The question is whether you get automatically awarded grade 1 if you fulfill all the criteria or whether you have to apply for it (and pay a fee ...). For instance, Brno looks perfectly F1-suitable to me but it is grade 2 - but since they (as far as I know) never so far attempted to have F1, they m...

It shouldn't be. The majority of the race was really rather dull. Ferrari in 2010 was a better car than 1996, but its clear now that the state of the team is far weaker than when Michael joined, when it had Todt, Bryne, and Brawn, which are far superior than their counterparts this era.
