Re: Leclerc vs Sainz
The fact Sainz is still getting used to that car, lets see what happens next year then this comparison would make sense.
Also like Ricciardo Leclerc has had a bounce from beating Vettel which has added to the myth of how good they both are.

When you just dont know when to stop, he got lucky at turn 2 and now a Merc 1-2 tomorrow and he will need divine intervention at the final race.

Re: Who will win the Championships?
You lot are overreacting a bit. I would rather be in Verstappen's shoes right now with a 14 points cushion , bulletproof reliability so far into this season and a pitwall that proved to be more efficient than Mercedes time and time again. In order for Lewis to win the tittle , he would have to win ...

From: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/59293239 Masi said: "I disagree that it's inconsistent. You judge each incident on its merits. Let's not forget we have the overall 'let them race' principles. "That philosophy was adopted. The proximity of the cars, where it is, the nature of the corner, ...

Re: Brazil 2021 - Should Max have been given a Penalty
Well now I've seen Max's onboard I think I'll stick my initial assessment. He didn't really open up the steering, he just ran deep to stay alongside Hamilton and then didn't really try to make the turn when he could have as he knew that would potentially allow Hamilton to carry his momentum round t...

Re: 2021 Brazilian Grand Prix FP & Sprint Qualy/Race Thread
Today was a hammer blow for Redbull and its driver. A weekend that will probably be the turning point of the season, it reminds me of AbuDhabi '12 where Ferrari and their driver were waiting till Vettel got penalised and he finished on the podium starting from the pit lane. Lewis beating him after s...

The pundits are over eggings this "dominant merc for the rest of the season". Did they forget mexico. For all we know softs were the tyre to be on and the only reason bottas kept it ahead, not to mention maxs gear sync issues. Hamilton in qualifying and the sprint just seems to have it hooked up. Vettel, Ricciardo and Leclerc for me. Raikkonen also but lost it at the end. I thought this was possibly Kimi's best drive this until this moment. Although admittedly, his pace was only good in the first half as Giovinazzi was over 20 seconds behind at one point and closed right to below 2 before K...

Re: Who will win the Championships?
Perhaps I am overreacting to FP1, but if Verstappen somehow pulls of this title (very doubtful), it will go down as one of the greatest titles of all time. Luck is against him and the quality of the car is against him. Well the cars thus far have been quite equal, the luck was certainly against him...

Re: Who will win the Championships?
Had the race been run what do you imagine would have been the most likely result? Remembering that Hamilton was on the dryer setup. The Mercedes would have come alive in the race like it has done since the end of the summer break. On a wet track with a dry setup? I'd say Mercedes has been stronger ...

I don't see how you can call Monza lucky... Without his botched pitstop he would have gained points on Hamilton. Calling Spa lucky as well is a reach. With a wet setup in the race Red Bull would certainly have hoped to gain more than 3.5 points on Hamilton. Overall, your post feels like your trying...

Alonso's penalty for hitting Schumacher was really lenient.
Also the Gasly one was a joke, and going around Gasly like that looked a bit amateurish.

I've not been able to watch practice. Is Red Bull really on the back foot or do the times paint a false picture? Hamilton: was able to hang on to his tyres despite running in traffic throughout the first stint and made the most of them when he could. He was catching Norris before the rain and had a good chance of taking him even if it stayed dry. Did a good job on the very slippery track to take his 100th win...

Alonso and Norris. Leclerc also drove a great race until he/Ferrari kept it far too long on slicks. I cannot see why any of the podium deserve DOTD. At the end of the day it's the immoveable object against the irresistible force. I very much doubt there will be a clean pass for position between the two for the remainder of the season UNLESS the stewards start clamping down harder from this point. We've all seen how hot-headed Verstappen can be - Brazil 2018 being a prime example. Just because he couldn't bear the thought of a 'slower car' unlapping himself he chose to race Ocon, and lost a win as a result. The boy just doesn't learn. Verstappen saw red mist yesterday. While I still think it was a racing incident, Verstappen's 'pass or crash' ultimatum shows he can't control his emotions. We've seen him bail out a sum total of one time this season at Portugal when Hamilton squeezed him on the exit. Hamilton has been far more for...

History shows that Hamilton has taken out a Red Bull more than Verstappen has taken out a Mercedes. What isn't considered in this is that Hamilton has taken avoiding action against a Red Bull on more than one occassion. Exactly. Hamilton more likely to take out a RB is based on Hamilton having cras...

The funny thing is both have gotten the same penalty for different incidents.
As it was a 10 sec penalty but because his race was done as well it morphs to a 3 place grid penalty at the next race.

I agree Max should have bailed. I also think Lewis was wrong to be so far to the left at that point. He went wide and compromised his T2 line despite knowing Max was there. That's why I'd penalise both. Do you not know where the apex of turn 2 is? So Max then pushes him into the gravel as thats whe...
