Re: If you were Vijay and Otmar....

Ocon's engineer told him not to worry because he was faster and he would overtake Perez anyway. That's why I believe it was stupid to try to do it there. The only thing that is stupid is victim blaming. Ocon had a better exit out of La Source, he got alongside, are you going to finally explain to m...

Re: If you were Vijay and Otmar....

That move attempt was dumb knowing their history. Something Hamilton or Vettel would have never made for example. Wait, what? "We've had issues so I will know fully expect him to go against the regulations and put me into the wall"? On that account Ocon should never attempt to pass - after all, if ...

These young kids are all looking for the "spectacular" overtake to then watch it on youtube or be voted as Driver of the Day.
Ocon would have easily passed Perez in the next straight but went for the overtake of the day award.

It was stupid trying to pass there. Ocon had better tyre and would have passed Perez in the next straight anyway(something even his engineer told him via radio). And to the above: 1. Hamilton may feel the team decision was unfair. But that's just an opinion and obviously you can have different ones on that. But it does not change the fact that Hamilton disobeyed the TO, impeded Alonso's pole run first, and by his wrongdoing started the mess, in which course...

So the poll gives us no option on Ocon. Very fair. I am very worried about these new guys. Ocon, Verstappen, Kvyat, sometimes Sainz. Wasnt Vettel just 2-3 seconds behind Hamilton over 31 laps into the race when the SC got deployed, at a track where Mercedes was expected to be faster anyways? It was his decision. Alonso was not only stripped from Pole but he was given a 5 places grid penalty for a reason. Had he done nothing wrong, he would have kept 2°. The smart thing to do would have been to carry on and complain at the end of qualifying, but he decided he knew better. Don't believe ...

No it is not the same. HAM was not deliberately slowing down to save his tyres and he was in no way destroying ROS pace. Drivers don't build anything . They can give feedback on what's been brought to track sure but we know Alonso is good at that from comments by engineers he's worked with.
