Re: Ron Interviewed by the CBI

Did Queen ever go out of favour? I know they struggled to make in the early days, i thought they never looked back after Bohemian Rapshody? Nah there was a period they had troubles and talked about splitting early 80's I think . Not sure of the full details, but watched a few Docu's with Brian May ...

When there are so few people who can achieve the same level of results then the person is anything but dispensable. Otherwise it's like saying Freddie Mercury was dispensable in Queen, MS was dispensable to Ferrari, Alexander the Great was despensable to Greece etc. It's hard to believe he evaluate...

Health and safety regulations in the UK have put paid to wet weather running, too many people worried about getting pursued by the government in the event of an injury at the track. I don't get this... I've raced at plenty of circuits in the UK in hire karts, even in monsoon like conditions Yes thi...

Re: Indoor and Outdoor gokart

I guess it depends on what you're comparing with, my experience with hire karts is that on an indoor track the karts do little more than 30mph, on an outdoor track you're invarable going to be on a much bigger track and more powerful karts doing about 50 mph, so there is a speed difference. Also as...

If he were leaving no matter what, why would he have negotiated? I guess you could argue that, even if he knew he was definitely leaving, it would be totally beneficial to the Hamilton camp to get the best possible deal on the table at McLaren to enable the negotiation of an even better deal at Mer...

Its amazing having a grid consisting of such talent, go back as recently as 2006 and you have people like Ide, Montiero, Albers, Speed etc. I can say theres no-one currently signed for next year that hasn't got a podium or I cant imagine ever getting one although Chilton/ Gultierez/ Bottas are unpr...

Re: Indoor and Outdoor gokart

I found indoor closer to outdoor karting than rallying, The circuits are generally colder because there is no sunlight and there are often materials other than tarmac used. Comparing surfaces only, I'd say that outdoor tracks on a dry day are going to offer the most grip but I don't know the relati...

Re: How well would Vettel have done in Ferrari's F2012?

As has been discussed elsewhere, an interesting scenario would have been for Vettel and Alonso to have swapped places in 2012, the cars themselves remaining exactly the same with all the quirks etc. Alonso would have done well in the RB8 and almost certsainly would have won all the races that Vette...

Re: How well would Vettel have done in Ferrari's F2012?

In the first half of the season - worse than Alonso, in the second part - better than Alonso. On balance - probably the same. However there are few big factors here: 1. Vettel wouldn't want or accept Massa's gearbox "problems" in USA and therefore would probably have 5-10 pts less than Alonso in th...

Re: F1-calibre drivers / Available race seats

To be honest I don't think anyone in F1 at the moment currently doesn't deserve to be. The weakest are probably Senna, Ricciardo, Vergne and Di Resta, and neither of them are especially terrible Narain style, just slow and/or distinctly average. But even the 4 you've mentioned have won races in pre...

Re: Should Webber have signed the contract with RBR?

The guy can work his way up the "all time wins" list at Red Bull. If he performs like he did in most of 2010 and early 2012, he can beat Vettel in a straight fight and as long as he can do that he will win races. At Ferrari he wouldn't win because Alonso would get the better of him, whether by outr...

Re: F1-calibre drivers / Available race seats

I feel that these last few years have seen a much broader supply of drivers that IMO belong in F1 than ever before, so does this mean we should have a few more teams or perhaps increase the number of cars per team? Also, will next year see for the first time a grid without even one “bad” driver, as...

I don't get this Mark was difficult comes from. There was one part where he nearly went off in turn one moving out of Sebs way and lost a few places because of it. Re: Hulkenberg a potential candidate for Red Bull drive in 2

Why send Hulk to STR? It would not make any sense and I think of it this way, if Hulkenburg was to go to RBR in 2014. I think Webber would end up possibly finishing his career with Sauber next to Gutteriez (Butchered his name) at Sauber. I think it would fit for Hulkenburg to go to RBR in 2014, but...

IMO, I am more surprised that Red Bull even wanted to extend Webber's contract. He is a good driver and can be superb on his day but I really don't trust the guy - never have.
