Re: Best 2012 car for a wet race?
@Alienturnedhuman I do agree with the facts you stated (was referring to practice in Turkey as the race was dry) but as I stated he hasn't been 'mega' as someone else stated earlier. He was beaten by Webber on two of these occasions which didn't really happen in the dry, if that makes sense? Monza ...

I wouldn't count the Mercs out if it stays wet throughout. Schumacher was doing quite well at Canada last year until the track dried out and DRS was enabled.

Re: Best 2012 car for a wet race?
I don't mean to be nasty but where has Vettel been 'mega' in the rain? last year: Turkey - crashed Nurburgring - was pretty poor to be fair Canada - blew it under pressure (IMO had McLarens been higher up in qualy they would have dominated like the RB did and then won) Silverstone - lost to Webber ...

kimi ballsed up so the real gap diff is 2.1s over the car in front. even to kimi it was 0.8s. they in Q3 1.3s ahead of the ex virgin team, similiar gap to last year in some races. Of course you comparing to the start of last year, not where they were later in the year. whats the gap like losing the...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/17412581 Same as the f-duct, or rear blown diffuser, teams instantly accuse the other team of cheating to try and force the team to remove it. I always feel teams should buckle up and try and get with the technology. What do you think, is the FiA going to take ...

Re: Kovalainen's New Helmet. (Pics)
While it is a good execution of the idea. I think it's a horrible step back from the helmet he was wearing during testing.
If I still had my Kawasaki green Ninja I'd be masking off one of my black helmets to get a similar design right now.

Drivers: 1. Kimi - the answer is always Kimi. 2. Heiki - wish he'd kept his testing helmet design. 3. Hulk - will the promise he showed at Williams continue. Teams: 1. Caterham - will they still be in the gap between midfield and the other new teams, or have they joined the peloton? 2. Lotus/Mercede...

you may as well be discussing who would win a coin toss ? This what I thought as soon as the title of this thread showed up, and why I never bothered to comment on it until now. Yet I still find it entertaining to read the comments in threads like this to see how some people are so sure that their ...

I hate to be that guy but... Speaking mathematically, with enough data available, you can find any sort of relationship between various statistics. Re: Who's comeback had higher hopes?
While I'm a huge Kimi fan, I'm also a realist. Although some of the more rabid fans might be predicting a mighty year for the Finn, I think it will only be a middling kind of season for him. Yes the Lotus seems like it could start the season on par with last years car, and hopefully they'll be able ...

Re: Vettel/Red Bull-Reanult's 2011 superiority exaggerated
Besides China, I don't quite remember McLaren every being any closer than 20 - 30 seconds behind Vettel. Really? He only won by 20 seconds once in Australia (22.2), and two other times by more than 10 seconds, Korea (12.0) and Valencia (10.8). Impressive yes, but not 20-30 seconds every time. Meanw...

Re: Audi unveil R18 e-tron quattro - with Williams flywheel
I really want to see a kinetic KERS system working well. It would make things a whole lot easier than lugging around a lump of battery and would also be a fairly cheap alternative to transfer to road car manufacturing with a longer life than the current battery hybrids. Is it just me or are the fro...

Re: Which midfield team will be the strongest in 2012? Updat
Caterham were/are mid-field?! Really? :uhoh: They haven't been. However they were starting nip at Williams heels toward the end of last season even without KERS. So it's quite possible they will make the step up into the back end of the midfield this year, but I don't believe they'll be strongest o...

HRT didnt test last two years, made it to grid and beat Virgin. Who is to say Marussia wont do that this year? For the record, I hope they dont! I have a soft spot for HRT and really hope their new car is a vast improvement on the last two They are basing their cars on last year's models.... Yep......

I don't know that's so much that he started in a top team.
