Re: Which F1 driver will you count on to save us?

Rosberg on the other hand, well, he was good against Nakajima and 42 years old Schumi who had a serious concussion included bike accident in 2009. His one lap pace isn't dependable enough like his past and present teammates due to high risk of conditions related with this topic. Yeah, because it's ...

Also we have data from 2006 which gives some clue about Webber-Rosberg one lap speed. Of course Rosberg MAY got faster through seasons, maybe same. Re: Which F1 driver will you count on to save us?

I think because Webber had always been seen as a one lap specialist. His Jaguar and Williams days had told everyone that all he needed was a race-worthy car. The absolute speed was there. Then Vettel comprehensively hammered him. Webber was a reasonably good qualifier back in the day (usually with ...

Hamilton has been tested against Rosberg, who is blistering over one lap. Why are Vettel/Ricciardo considered benchmarks but Rosberg is not? Rosberg took 11 pole positions in 2014, and what makes this even more impressive than Vettel's 15 pole positions in 2011, is that Rosberg did it with Hamilton ...

Funny how Singapore was probably the last circuit on the entire calendar where I expected Lewis to out-qualify Nico, yet he did. On the other hand, Montreal was probably the last circuit where I expected Rosberg to beat Hamilton, yet he did as well.

Generally speaking Alonso had horrible reliablity in 2003. I think he DNFed in about 5 or 6 races. This is an interesting point, because I remember someone claiming that Alonso could have been up there in the thick of the WDC action in 2003 if Renault had Ferrari's bulletproof reliability. Re: Who will win between Vettel and Raikkonen?

In 2004, Alonso lost 16 points in total due bad luck from USA (tyre explosion when 3rd) and Belgium (blown up engine when leading). He was overall still better than Trulli in races that year. Likewise, Alonso trashed Trulli in 2003 by a score of 55-33 (and it would've been an even bigger difference ...

I thought I was the only one who imagined this crazy scenario whenever I'm bored. Anyway, Rosberg is a brilliant qualifier and very fast around Singapore. Re: Who will win between Vettel and Raikkonen?

It was apparently really easy to get heat into the Michelin tires, something that was more difficult to do with Bridgestone and Pirelli tires. Maybe that's another reason to why, Kimi has often struggled to get hard tires to work. Remember mid-2008? I still recall the opening laps of Brazil 2003. He...

I've never seen Vettel strongly challenge for a championship with the clear-third best car on the grid like Kimi did in 2003. You could argue 2009, but: 1. The Red Bull RB5 was a stronger car than the McLaren MP4/17D 2. Kimi still came closer to the 2003 WDC than Vettel was to the 2009 WDC. Kimi's r...

Judging Vettel based ONLY in 2014 is like ridiculing a legend once he/she spins at a corner during a race. You cannot compare one mistake in a single corner to an entire season of inability to adapt. What team orders in Malaysia? Rosberg wasn't told not to pass, Brawn refused to tell Hamilton to let him through. Rosberg could've passed Hamilton previously if he'd thought things through. Button was Hamilton's teammate for 3 years as opposed to just 2 (as of now), so technically speaking you should have 50% more races where JB beat Lewis clean. ;) I agree that it wouldn't be a clear-cut victory, but Rosberg would come out on top IMO.
