Re: McLaren MCL33 Unveiled!

I don't get their orange obsession. I'm not sure even most fans have an orange obsession at this point.

But, at least it stands out, as anything else could lead to them looking like an Alfa Romeo or a Mercedes :)

Re: Ferrari SF71H Unveiled!

What worries me a bit is that Ferrari have lengthened the wheelbase while Mercedes have kept the same as last year. I was hoping for the opposite as the team that got it right last year has an extra year of knowledge with their concept. That said Ferrari seem to have made more drastic changes with ...

Video of Bottas driving the car with the halo, looking through a helmet camera, I had to stop watching as it made me feel claustrophobic, it must be a lot worse actually in the car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdH_-KKP7JE Looking at that, even with the talk of stereo vision, the obstruction of ...

A new rumour has surfaced! A British energy drinks company named Rich Energy is in talks to purchase Force India. They've put a quotation of around £200 million for buying Force India. Rich Energy is already associated with F1 via partnerships such as with Monaco Grand Prix. http://www.dailymail.co...

Di Resta is the stand out for me. Again, disclaimer, some clear Scottish favouritism here... But I thought he had a fairly solid career, performed well against a guy now leading a works team, had a really really bad run of results at exactly the wrong time and found himself out because Perez / Hulk ...

Re: What Is the Highest WDC Ranking for a Paying Driver?

I'm looking for drivers known as paying drivers the majority of their career, not those who graduated to paid status. For example, was Pastor Maldonado a paying driver throughout? Again though, anyone who performs well and gets near the front is likely to find themselves being elevated from 'paying...

You're loading your own results with the question.

Drivers backed by large sponsors are paying drivers. If you want to basically limit this to "crap drivers with large sponsors", then of course you're not going to find many in the upper echelons of the WDC.

I live in the Central time zone in the US, and have been getting up at 6:30am to watch/record the European races starting at 7am for decades. I don't mind this schedule at all, and don't think that Liberty Media should change it, if the goal is a wider US TV audience. There are four time zones in t...

While I see your point that size can be an advantage or disadvantage in other sports too, I think there's something that you are not taking into consideration here. In basketball, for example, a big huge guy like Shaq does have an advantage that is hard to compete with, however, a much smaller guy ...

I think both viewpoints are right here. Hamilton has matured massively. I think he was a bit gung-ho in his early career, in 2011 he was just mentally nowhere, and now he is - in my opinion - the mentally strongest driver on the grid. However, part of this run is due to the situations he has been in...
