Re: when, and to where, will the Ricciardo move take place?
Why should he not be considered better than Vettel? In their year together Ricciardo beat Vettel because Vettel simply wasn't good enough to beat him. No if's or buts. Based on the only evidence available, yes, Ricciardo is better than Vettel. There are always ifs and buts. And driver performances ...

Re: when, and to where, will the Ricciardo move take place?
I still think Ricciardo is a good chance at Ferrari or Mercedes, who wouldn't be stupid to grab the opportunity while they can. When the Red Bull is in a position to compete, Ricciardo has shown he is the best overtaker in the business and can take the win when it's available. He's got the ability ...

If it wasn’t such a lunatic idea you’d swear by looking st that footage that it was deliberate.
The driver actually appears to correct his course & steer square into the back of stationary car.
That’s a weird crash.

Another nightmare for McLaren incoming and with Alonso's current mood it's not going to be pretty on the radio either. FOM were up to their usual tricks with him yesterday, apparently they cut the words "about Grosjean" out of his radio outburst about his brakes and not caring too much. What they b...

Re: France: Vettels 5 Second Penalty
5 second penalty to be served within 3 laps. The idea that it can be either added to the end result or served at the next pit stop really allows teams to reduce the impact of the penalty down the bare minimum. Bottas' race was destroyed because of that incident and I feel it warranted more than a 5 ...

F1 has never been the overtaking fest I think some people believe it should be. I remember some real processions throughout the 80's & 90's and at the great tracks like Spa & Silverstone but what has changed is the unpredictability of the sport. For me the main issues regarding processional & predic...

So I guess the best solution is for the FIA to do away with this ridiculous component conservation philosophy and find a formula that's affordable and practical so the teams can have have as many components as they want and we can do away with these dumb penalties.

Hamilton is yet to sign, yes? So it makes sense that Mercedes would like to have options, and in that regard talks with Ricciardo seem logical. Both seem comfortable they'll be together next year and the delay is just to allow them to focus on the Ferrari threat http://www.espn.com.au/f1/story/_/id...

Agree with all this. Macca offers nothing beneficial to Ricciardo. He's on record as saying he's after a championship and not a pay day and if he goes to macca then he might as well say goodbye to any chance of a WC for good. Agree about Alonso as well. Good that McLaren are offering $20m. Ricciardo can bargain a bit harder for a pay hike as well. McLaren is only an attraction to Norris. So here's some cannon fodder for the thinkers out there. Start up a 3rd championship for engine suppliers with a pretty decent carrot at the end for the winner. Each component failure costs the supplier points in that championship. That way it won't affect the WDC or WCC. Yes obviously there's flaws...
