Re: 2018 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
I doubt the owners are thrilled with the stewards decision, but the team let Seb down and it's a slam dunk penalty. The championship is starting to look a long shot, and with the races generally being very boring viewers will soon start tuning out as Hamilton coasts to another title. Wow, what a de...

Now it's all upto Raikkonen to do something about this. Mercs starting on Supersoft is a clear conclusion they'll be 1st & 2nd on the podium. Kimi is on ultras, so he should be able to contend on the start. Even if Lewis does end up behind Kimi though, I would think he stands a good chance of passi...

My friends and I were there, what a great place to see the races. Good race, no real drama as stated but the top drivers were close to flawless. Man this is a close series. Borefest because Hamilton won? There was plenty of overtaking, if you think it was boring then perhaps F1 is not for you? I am not sure what race some of these folks were watching, but I thought there was a lot of ontrack overtaking exclusive of Vettel's and Bottas' charge up the order.

China was awful this year until the SC came out. There was a few overtakes in the midfield today but without the turn 1 incident it would have been another straight forward 1 stop race at the front. I wouldn't use 2 cars starting at the back being ridiculously faster than the rest to make a judgeme...

Hamilton, Verstappen, Sainz
Hamilton for the win.
Max for a well run second and having an uneventful drive.
Sainz was really best of the rest till his car gave up on him. An excellent 50 out of 53 laps for Carlos today.

Re: 2018 French Grand Prix Race Thread
From watching the F2 there's a chance of some action into that chicane on the back straight if the cars can stay close enough before it. If the chicane wasn't there the straight would definitely be a good overtaking spot. Drivers said in the meeting you need to take out the chicane for better racin...

As I remember Toro Rosso has only had one P/U failure this year at Australia with Pierre Gasly. (Gasly and Hartley each also have retirement(s) due to collision) That is not bad for a new car and P/U combination.

Vettel, Bottas, and Leclerc Vettel for dominating the race. Valtteri for his job of keeping the pressure on Sebastian. Renault does not have the best driver or P/U or chasis, but they have the best pair of drivers of the teams listed. Alonso is the best driver among the lot but Vandoorne cant provide support. Monaco is not a representative track on the F1 calendar. RBR seems to be good on this type of track.
