Re: The Official Sir Lewis Hamilton thread

If you suffer hand injuries and/or burns like Grosjean did in Bahrain, then wearing a bunch of rings is going to cause a whole bunch of problems. If your hands are swollen, you wont be able to take them off and the blood flow to your fingers will be restricted. If you have burns or blisters, you won...

Yeah the end was a mess.

The nothing to lose attitude got Jordan their first win, it's not like it has no merit in a slower car.
You mean Spa ‘98? I fail to see the relevance.

Cancel Culture a term invented by people who don't want to be held accountable for their actions. It's is relevant when it comes to deleting and editing TV shows and people losing their jobs just because someone, somewhere was offended by something . It's quite clearly not the case in this situatio...

Re: All Russian involvement in F1 [should be] annulled

Interview with Mazepin here . Bold of him to do it, but I'm not sure he comes out of it well or will have gained any support for his way of thinking. I'm very much against genuine examples of "cancel culture". I don't think sanctions against a country that started a war is an example of cancel cult...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Just as a general point from both Saudi weekend in the last 6 months… what a dreadful track. To think that the entire runoff on the inside of Raidillon has had to be reprofiled because there is one barrier too close to an apex… this place has 27 separate high speed, blind death traps, lined with con...

Another rubbish pitstop for Vips he lost 15 seconds.
Yeah, the cameras were pre-occupied with Lawson but WTF?! I’d be fuming if I were him, could easily have made the podium.

What do they use at airports to keep the runways tidy? To my knowledge they aren't cleaned during normal operations, just regularly inspected for debris. They would probably switch to a different runway altogether, and stop flying if that option is unavailable. There isn't really any reason for deb...

Re: F3 / F2 2022

It was such a pointless time and place to stick his nose in. Doohan had just come out of the pits on cold tyres, he was never ever going to win the traction battle down to T4 even if he could stay alongside Theo briefly. Inexperience showed I'd say, should have just tucked in behind and left plenty ...

Pourchaire crosses the line 1st after colliding with Doohan following their pit stops which resulted in Doohan needing a new front wing. Lawson was second from Vips. You can't 'sanction proof' a country. You can stockpile foreign currency and other commodities but in 2022, to isolate yourself from half the world is not a good economic strategy. I'd say cancel all sporting interactions with Russia is a no brainer, including the GP. Kick them out of UEFA and FIFA tournaments (and if they don't have the balls to do that just refuse to play them). As a side note, I do feel a small amount of empathy for Mazepin. He's going to be even more of a...

The whole Chadwick situation just highlights why I've never liked the series from the beginning. All they've done is take a bunch of drivers who aren't good enough for F3, race them and given the winner some cash. It was a mess but ultimately the right man won the championship, so overall I’m okay with it. As for the rules, there are simply too many ambiguous options for me and I don’t like the SC, full stop. It should be either a VSC/slow zone or a full red for a serious incident or one which blocks the trac...

If you care enough about F1 to register on a forum, you’re not going to abandon it completely because of a bit of dodgy officiating. A few people will clearly need a couple of months to untwist their knickers but they’ll be back.

Then it's upto appeals and the case going to Paris.
I think a few lawyers are going to be buying themselves some shiny new watches and sports cars in the new year.
