Re: Do we need to re-visit 2017 and 2018 Ferraris?
Not as certain as 07/08 but probably. I think we get sucked in to assuming driver equalisation when comparing cars. If by driver equalisation you mean we assume that the driver is the same when driving two different cars, then I covered. Two reasons I think Vettel was just as bad in 2018 as he's in...

Do we need to re-visit 2017 and 2018 Ferraris?
This is an exercise I did with 2007 Ferrari and my belief is that it was faster than the McLaren, being held back by two average drivers. 2018 Ferrari I have always held was WDC-worthy and Vettel threw away a sure championship. 2017 was closer, but a driver at his very best may have won in that car ...

Everyone spent the time moaning about team orders over at Merc, for their obvious number 1 choice and results that are close to bagging another drivers/constructors. Over at Ferrari, when they obviously had agreements in place.. Vettel ignored it. Don't think anyone can blame him. It could have cau...

Max Verstappen will be a worried man. At the summer break Red Bull looked like they would be the main competition to Mercedes throughout the remainder of the season. Spa and Monza were always going to be strong for Ferrari, but Red Bull must have expected to challenge for the win in Singapore. Red ...

Free Practice is telling us nothing. Verstappen can't really be the fastest guy, so Ferrari/Merc are hiding their pace.

Re: Is Red Bull too dependent on Adrian Newey?
I have said it before and will say it again. Red Bull doesn't bring any fresh blood into the team. They've essentially closed to door to all the new innovations at other teams by not poaching any good people. For Red Bull to win, they must, and I say must, bring fresh people who bring along ideas fr...

This is why Bottas contract was extended. They knew he lacks a backbone. Title looks to be done, Mercedes have rules in the team and Bottas stuck by them. Is it worth upsetting the team for the rest of the season when you have a contract and a new crack at the title next year. Bottas doesn't have a...

But not the previous 2 years so that differs from Vettel. Vettel had that in 2012. The Red Bull was no more the clear best car that year than the Mercedes was in 2017. I'd say that's fair but I'd say that, for Hamilton, you also have to include 2008. 2008 is something Vettel hasn't done, true -- wi...

He will win again, for sure. He's not slow, just highly error-prone. One race where Ferrari can win, and he doesn't make an error, he can win. So yeah, he will, maybe not this year since not many Ferrari tracks left.

I think Red Bull, see who got it right and then try to arrange a move there accordingly. When does his current contract expire? He could do with it being the end of 2021 ideally. This is probably the safest and most likely scenario. Jumping ship going into 2021 would always open up the possibility ...

One has to ask. Is Vettel Raikkonen 2.0? The latter half of their careers really told a different story making you re-assess their earlier career. Is Vettel just an average driver? In 2014 he lost to Ricciardo. Then for 4 years he was many times much closer to Raikkonen than he should have been. Al...

I will be surprised if, assuming he's outclassed by Leclerc for the rest of the season, Vettel does not call time on his career. Surely as a 4x champ he cannot settle for being a number 2, and he can't claim that a move to another team would revitalise him. That worked when it was Ricciardo who bea...

As a MV fan, I was rather tiddled. He should have known better, inexcusable totally. It wasn't even a 50/50 chance, he blew it. One can hope he doesn't do it a third time next year.

Chance of a freaking lifetime for Albon. Landed in a Red Bull.
He needs to channel his inner Hamilton and deliver a 2007 like performance.
If Albon is mentally too weak for this move, he doesn't deserve to be in F1.
