Re: The Official Mark Webber Thread

Webber finishes on the podium for his first WEC race at Silverstone with a 3rd, two laps behind first and one lap behind 2nd. From what I have read it was a wet race and was red flaged. The Porsche did not have a high downforce package unlike the Toyotas, the Audis apparently had a dreadful race wh...

Re: Is Vettel overrated, or Ricciardo and Vergne underrated?

Is this the first time Vettel under this kind of pressure? No. Early 2012 is almost similar, everybody was talking the same thing back then: he couldn't win without the best car, Webber showed him how to drive, he cracked under pressure, he threw toys out of the pram, etc. The difference is that the...

Re: Is Vettel overrated, or Ricciardo and Vergne underrated?

This "suited/not suited to a driving style" is a lame excuse in my opinion... . No it's not. F1 drivers are the best drivers in the world, and they have to adapt their driving style to the car that their team gives to them, that changes every year. Quite right. They will adapt of course, but the ti...

Re: 2014 Chinese Grand Prix Free Practice and Qualy Thread

Yeah, Nico choked. He would have thrown it into the corner if he was assured of a second place, but he obviously wasn't so I think he's being disingenuous there. Rosberg was driving just as quick as Hamilton though until he made that mistake in the final corner. With his car advantage, Rosberg shou...

Re: Is Vettel overrated, or Ricciardo and Vergne underrated?

Too early to tell. This is a repeat of 2012 when EBD was reduced significantly, now it's gone from less EBD to no EBD at all. Being accustomed to using and maximizing this advantage, Vettel needs more time to adapt to the change, more than Ricciardo (or Webber) does. I think we will see how Vettel c...

How many DNFs could you expect from Mercedez? The engine is bulletproof, the most consistent since day 1 of winter test.

They should've brought Alonso to replace Button, he can do better with the MP4-29 than with F14T.

Not too soon I think. Mercedez have opened the season much more convincingly than Brawn 2009. And it's almost impossible they'll stop the development at mid season like Brawn 2009 did, yet Brawn still won it in the end. This year is a WCC walkaway for Mercedez. Maybe this is a silly question, I've heard a lot of anger against Domenicalli, but honestly I don't understand why it's him who has to be responsible for Ferrari cars' speed. Especially because now they already have super designer Rory Byrne who, about a decade ago, totally trounced "the one whom Al...

Ya they had 1 engine blow each and a 2nd retirement each. But to say Alonso's 2006 win was simply down to reliability is ridiculous. 2005 you've a strong case, 2006 I don't agree.
