Re: Perez driving today

Perez is not playing a mental game or whatever. It's pretty simple: He only figured out one way to overtake at Monaco. Throw it down the inside and hope the brakes slow him enough before the chicane. After the first time it worked, he simply kept trying the same thing again and again. It was ham fis...

For those who would trust their lives entirely to a computer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qantas_Flight_72 Well that's not the best argument because it is well known that computers are, at the moment, incapable of taking complete control. The question is a hypothetical one where the computers have...

Re: lewis cursed

Why six seconds though? An F1 stop takes two if it goes well. Besides, nothing is lost if Hamilton stacks up either. I think Rosberg was way too slow. It didn't cost him anything but it cost Hamilton at least one place, if not two. He pitted right after Rosberg. Yes but if Rosberg had matched Vette...

As a huge hammy fan should I be worried? I know everyone said it would take him a few races to get up to speed but rosberg really does seem to have the edge on him. He just can't seem to match him on pace/raw speed and tyre wear. I really do hope it comes to him soon, as far as I can see he is the ...

Re: Physics/Maths of F1 acceleration and speeds

Long thread, admittedly I didn't read all of it. But the original question was, why does the engine take longer to accelerate in higher gears, yes? Let's consider the simple scenario where the car doesn't have to deal with air resistance or frictional losses. These losses are larger at higher speeds...

From an engineering point of view, is pure rear wheel steering more unstable? If so why? I think we're just used to front wheel steering and the sensation of rear wheel steering is weird. But if we use objective parameters such as the speed at which the car loses grip or speed at which the car rolls...

She was unable to engage the clutch when turning into the makeshift pits and did not know where the neutral button was. The ant-stall system meant she couldn't brake hard and simply stall the engine. If the car was fine, then the brakes were working. Why would the anti-stall system prevent an F1 ca...
