Re: 2020 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread
Sainz moaning about turn two.... well clearly you're not supposed to drive through the bollards at full speed are you? The whole point of the chicane is to slow you down, but no it has to be changed because you're an idiot! To be fair it is a horrible piece of track design. That bollard chicane is ...

Bottas had two mediocre laps in q3. People on here talking as if he absolutely nailed his laps and can't fathom how the car could go any faster. Hamilton had poor laps in Q2. If Hamilton finished p15 the red flags, vettel or Mercedes would have been blamed. If the shoe was on the other foot and Bott...

Bagnaia has been the only rider that's impressed me this year. Podium at Misano and on for a podium at Jerez when his bike broke. Missed all the Ducati tracks with a broken leg The races have been entertaining but only because Marquez isn't there and 10seconds up the road. Far from a vintage year On...

The big teams ran wind tunnels 24/7 and did 100,000km+ of testing a year. There are plenty of interviews from the time where team principles talk about budgets before and after '08 and the lack of sponsors and manufacturer input I don't doubt that they went down dramatically between 2007 and 2008. ...

The crash wasnt even that bad, just looked spectacular In the late 90s before tobacco advertising was banned teams were still spending $200-$300million a year. With inflation that is similar to today so dont think the Spa crash will ever be topped Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari are still spending le...

I think it's time to face the facts. Short of Hamilton hanging up his helmet, Bottas won't win a WDC. The post race interview after Mugello Bottas seemed a beaten man. What are you going to have to do to beat Lewis? He had no answer - in every sense. He was strong in Qualy, but Hamilton, unbelievab...

Sainz said he was coming into the pits until his team told him to stay out. Would have been easy win for Hamilton and then he cut through the field better than anyone else. Gasly didn't do much, just right place at right time and made no mistakes. Stroll had huge opportunity to win and messed it up....

So far, I'd say Hamilton's opening phase of the 2020 season has been stronger than his 2018 and 2017 campaigns and also slightly better than his 2019 campaign. In 2019, I don't think Hamilton hit the purple patches he hit in 2017 and 2018 but he was slightly more consistent and balanced in his perf...

Viewing figures for many sports are higher than usual because of covid restrictions and people being at home. I haven't blamed covid for F1 being in a dire state. If you think it's in a good state when both titles are pretty much decided after six races then thats fine but I doubt its in the majority.

The track produces great races but is dangerous for bikes, that corner is a shocker. Cant belive how close some of the barriers are as well, reminds of the straight at Mugello where they go into a braking zone at 200mph+ with only about 2metres of run off before the wall Another great race. Think Ri...
