Get a load of this: http://circuitoftheamericas.com/tickets With the way this is going, I wonder if I will be able to afford a seat here; further, I wonder if they are going to sell General Admission tickets at all. How much will they cost? When do they go on sale? The lack of information is infuria...

Re: Official MotoGP Qatar GP Thread
It is obvious the Rossi/Ducati relationship isn't working. It must be a humbling experience for him to get on this bike and not be able to do anything with it, but I also put a lot of the blame on Ducati. They don't seem to be making a lot of change with their personnel, either. There needs to be a ...

Re: Official MotoGP Qatar GP Thread
Stoner got beat by Lorenzo, who had a phenomenal ride. Would Stoner have won had he not had arm pump? Possibly....I don't really think people should pile on Stoner here, nor should they excuse it, either. Lorenzo deserved the win because he rode like a banshee when it mattered most. If Stoner contin...

Re: Drivers opinions on V8 v V10 era cars
The continual decrease in power exhibited in F1 is probably the most depressing thing of all. Having seen V-10's in 2003 and 2005, they were simply incredible with sound and acceleration in person. The racing was much better, too. It seems these days the cars have more grip than power. It needs to b...

Lorenzo. No question about it. Sunday was another example. When everyone else was pushing and getting fatigued, he had another gear at the end of the race.
Given near equal machinery, I don't think anyone is better than he is.

224mph is insane on a motorcycle. I wonder if this will truly happen. Lorenzo has gone on record stating the current literbikes are way too fast without rev limits.
This is exciting.

Re: Races under heavy rain not possible anymore?
I don't have a problem with them stopping the race if nobody can see. It is simply silly to expect them to race in zero visibility. Torrential downpours with cars idling around in 2nd gear isn't fun to watch at all. I find a great many people in here overreacting to this issue. Do people truly expec...

Re: Why would you not use the best track!
Spa loses an enormous amount of money every year. This is an irrefutable fact.
Why do people not understand this?
The excellence of the track and everyone's undeniable orgasmic love for it have absolutely nothing to do with the decision to remove it. Nothing.

Re: 2012 Planet F1 MotoGP Thread
Like F1, I really cringe at the way this sport is headed. Unfortunately, just like F1, it's model has become completely unsustainable. I wonder, with the way the CRT-regulations are heading, what eventually the difference will be between WSBK and MotoGP. The glorious, screaming GP-bikes are about to...

Re: stallones stallones new movie. (circa 97)
Having Burt Reynolds as a team owner pushing himself around in a wheelchair was just....wrong on all kinds of levels, I don't care if it was done with respect. I thought of Sir Frank, and thought, what the hell is Stallone thinking? Ah well. Stallone seems like an all right guy, but there is no deny...

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
Really happened, they all laughed and discussed on the Speed Broadcast how these were given out to all members of the media. :) Kimi's been doing very well thus far. Really looking forward to him racing from a decent grid spot and seeing what he can do. Thus far though, I'm thrilled with his racecra...

Re: FIA Rules Mercedes Wing LEGAL
So many stupid assumptions by teams. Horner whining that they will have to absorb lots of costs to try such a system--well tough fairy cakes pal, you should have thought of it first, and maybe it doesn't work on your car even if you do use such a system. I tire of the whining. The sport used to be a...

Re: Austin 2012
You know, it may very well be that COTA looks like Bahrain did in 2004 with their inaugural race, with pavement and stands and everything else looking like complete crap. If it is that way, so be it, but I want it to look beautiful at least by year two. They seem to have horrendously small windows w...

I happen to be friends with Bob Varsha via Facebook and when I spoke with him a little over a year ago about having the network re-air some of the previous season as well a a historic documentary series (for those who never got a chance to see/witness it for themselves or those of us who would love...

Re: Gravel Traps - Much better for F1 than asphalt run-off a
Also, I wonder if the fact that when cars get stuck in gravel and retire, there has been an element of disdain from the financial aspect of F1-namely, sponsors. Asphalt gets the car running and back on the track again, whereas a retirement nullifies all commercial benefits of that car during a race....

Re: Gravel Traps - Much better for F1 than asphalt run-off a
Any one seen Paul Ricard? They have tarmac run-off that destroys the tyres if you go on it, while slowing the car down. There are two regions, blue and red- if you go into the red you're screwed (but you have to go a long way off to get there for the most part). The blue still damages the tyres if ...

Here is the link where it's suggested by an Italian newspaper than Trulli may have a chance to replace Massa sometime during the year! Provided if he doesn't score good enough points after getting a new chassis! http://totalf1.com/full_story/view/410889/Report_links_Trulli_with_Massa8217s_Ferrari_r...

Re: Should Maldonado have settled for 6th?
I'd only ever advocate a driver not going for it if there is a championship on the line etc.... As fans we can't criticise boring racing and then criticise the drivers when they crash whilst going for it. Who is criticizing the racing as boring? Who said he shouldn't race? The fact remains that he ...

Re: Should Maldonado have settled for 6th?
I disagree with everyone on here, I guess. The problem with the 'racing' mentality, is that if it contributes to more mistakes than points, than I don't think anyone on the pit wall working for Williams would agree with you. Maldonado wasn't close enough to attack Alonso with less than half a lap le...

Re: Recent levels of reliability
Can't stand it. I much preferred the team and engineers pushing to make the car faster-reliability suffers as a result, but everyone is pushing--results may change from week to week, a team finding tenths here and there. Now we are doing distance racing. F1 and long-life parts simply suck, in my opi...

Re: Montoya on fireball crash at Daytona 500
One of the oddest things I've ever seen. Certainly wasn't his fault, though. Just a weird conglomeration of events that led to the collision. I'm glad he was sideways when he struck that truck, though. Had he gone straight in, it could have been REAL bad. His car was absolutely destroyed, and the ne...
