Re: Are these new 2017 cars a complete failure?
New formula is a success in my opinion for similar reasons above. Yes there are less overtakes but they're more suspenseful and meaningful. Vettel attempting to reel bottas in last night in the final stint was more exciting to me than 30+ tyre advantage overtakes that happen so fast that the broadca...

Re: 11-year old dead after karting accident
I raced 100cc karts at roughly this age, perhaps 12 or 13. I don't ever remember a time where i felt in over my head or without control, though it only took one race for my mother to decide she was never coming to watch again. I agree with the comments above though that a 12 year old now looks like ...

Re: 2017 Australian Grand Prix Race thread
In the Aus broadcast they're not showing current track order, they were missing in q3 & q2 as well, and then didn't show times in q1, only the order.
It's pretty damaging to the experience, without that info it's just cars driving in a circle.

Re: Rightio. Who's it gunna be??
Button recently retired from the motorsport of Formula 1 following the 2016 Formula 1 season. Button has always been a solid comedian. That was essentially due to the lack of an available and competitive seat though. I mean if Alonso takes the Merc seat as everyone suggests it likely means Button w...

Re: Rightio. Who's it gunna be??
With the rule change next year, and for the first time in a few yeara uncertainty about how far ahead Mercedes will be, someone like Button or Massa who are proven point scorers but also could just be retained for a single year while they work out the lay of the new field seems the logical choice. I...

Re: [SHOWER THOUGHT] DRS alternative
The problem with following closely isn't just that you loose some front downforce. Because the air is all hot and swirly once it comes off the car infront, the front wing cant deflect it anywhere near as well as it is designed to, and the air just goes wherever it wants as it passes over the car. I...

[SHOWER THOUGHT] DRS alternative
Instead of 'disengaging' a bit of wing down the straights to compensate for the inability to pass around corners due to the disruptive air when following another car, could you instead have a chunk of extra wing 'engage' when cornering closely behind another car in an attempt to account for the lost...

Hulk's ship has sailed he is now resigned to a career of Adrian Sutildom If he doesn't get a podium in the next 32 races then he will beat Sutil for most races entered without a podium, so he's got this season and half of next season to get it done. Assuming he doesn't leave F1 before hand. I was m...

Kevin always seemed like a nice kid, and someone who would speak their mind with the media and had a fun/witty side. At the very least it's one more personality on the track, say what you want about Maldonado's driving but it's hard to argue that he had any kind of personality.

Re: Honda Spends last of Tokens
Does anyone think it's strange when Honda "dont have enough parts" for both drivers, as if another set is just outside the companies resources. I think it's more likely they want one new version and one old version on the same track to measure the difference on a level playing field. And that makes ...

As for the commentary about the car lengths in the photo merge I did, that was simply to illustrate that it was far from a minor lockup being as it spans that entire length. I'd say that is a pretty severe lockup. Here is the pic showing almost the full length of the Tomahawk missile. http://img.ph...

Mclaren for another year I expect, besides Massa/Button being a pretty weird and undesirable lineup for williams, Button stated often last year that the only reason to be in f1 in this point in his career is to fight for championships. He knows that's not going to happen at Williams, it 'might' at M...
