Re: Why I am seriously considering turning off F1
So far I'd rank this season as less exciting than 2014, but not really any worse than 2013 or 2011. Certainly not as good as 2010 or 2012. Maybe if one believes in numerology 2016 will be another good one? I strongly disagree that this year was better than 2011. In 2011 we had many great races like...

Re: 2015 Japan GP Race thread
This looks a bit tense. Can't wait for the full interview. D2gqdFJpl3Y Vettel was being a deuce and trying to instigate something. No one has to laugh at his disingenuous attempt at being funny. Also he is basically accusing Mercedes of cheating, joke or not. Vettel makes a lot of jokes. Some work,...

Re: Looks like Massa is falling behind Bottas
Massa is the same driver he always has been, decent pace relative to the good drivers, inconsistent and often inexplainable mistakes. Two avoidable crashes in 2 races. While the one with Hulkenberg was apparently more on Nico there is little doubt Massa took Ricciardo out at Suzuka. If you think Ma...

It's not really down to pace. I don't find any significance in Bottas beating Massa because Massa was hit by Hulk in Singapore.

Re: Did Lewis Force Nico off the Track at Suzuka?
I'm not sure what your definition is strictly relevant. Its an absolute scientific fact that a car is either under or over steering. It's the same definition that everyone I ever met in motor racing has been using for over 30 years. I presume you think they are all wrong. Unless they believe a car ...

Re: Did Lewis Force Nico off the Track at Suzuka?
So, not being in control of your car puts you in a position where you have done nothing wrong! That is your opinion that he was not in control of his car. As far as I could see, his latitude to "give more room" was compromised by his understeering exit out of T1. It's not my opinion that you wrote ...

Everyone is happy because there was no consequence to Kvyat's crash. Still, once again we see wheels sent across the track. The car behind could have easily driven into a wheel. The combination of that and the still open cockpits is what cost Henry Surtees his life. It's time for better protection ...

Re: Ferrari Making a Mistake?
The only thing that changed with Kimi was that he found himself paired with stronger teammates. Everyone says he was so great at Lotus but I think it's just down to having the second best car and being teamed with a young driver who was relatively average by F1 standards. Points aren't everything b...

Re: Ferrari Making a Mistake?
Raikkonen had moments of brilliance in 2007. Yes it took him time to adapt to Ferrari, but he put in some stellar drives late in the season. Most notably Fuji, where (after a bad call from Ferrari to start on inters), he charged his way from 21st to 3rd in absolutely treacherous conditions. DYmaBpJ...

Re: Ferrari Making a Mistake?
I still think that Raikkonen was a very good driver even in 2007. He took some time to get used to Ferrari, but France onward he was generally quicker than Massa on race pace by a modest margin. Because of the withdrawal of Michelin, he was not as fast in 2007 as he was in 2005, but the hunger and ...

Re: Ferrari Making a Mistake?
He was the best driver that season, and if not for mechanical failures in Spain and Nurburgring, he'd have won the WDC regardless of what McLaren did. Arguably the best drive of his career (Fuji 2007) also came that year. The way I see it, Kimi was still very good in 2007 (not as good as he was in ...

So he hasn't said he is trying to get him a race drive then? To be fair Wehrlein is the sort of driver who may win an appeal. Re: Random comparison, Kubica vs. Ricciardo
One thing I might suggest is that maybe we underrate the BMW a bit. It is possible that the BMW was on a par with the Mclaren but did not have a driver quite as good making it look inferior. In 2008 McLaren got 6 wins and 8 pole positions, and they had the outright fastest car on many weekends. BMW...

As a Kimi fan, I think he should be retiring at the end of the season. I don't actually think Vettel is super fast, however he is battering Kimi who is still inconsistent in very good car. I think it has to be noted there that his teammate Heidfeld was only 16 points behind him, Kubica got the vote by many because of his consistentency and lack of mistakes, whilst Hamilton was getting penalised every other race and Massa had bad luck with mechanical reliability. Kubica lost quite a b...

Yeah after what's happened to Honda it really disincentives any new manufacturer from coming in. Re: Ferrari Making a Mistake?
Pirelli's circus tyres and Ferrari's ongoing inability to cater for Räikkönen's driving preferences , will keep Kimi in second place in the scuderia, I'm afraid. Ferrari clearly have showed an ability to get him much more comfortable in his car in 2015 vs 2014 where he was very unstable at many tra...

Re: Random comparison, Kubica vs. Ricciardo
I went for Kubica but it is very close and I consider both tier 1 drivers.
The reason I went for Kubica was because I felt he was the best driver across two seasons. 2008 and 2010. Dan has only been the best driver in one, 2014.
